Traveled two and a half hours to see the truck after placing a $1,000 deposit down on the vehicle. Got a hint of funny smell during test trive, but was once again assured by salesman that he used to be a smoker, and he would never have asked us me to travel so far for a smoky vehicle. Bought the truck. Now, have it home for 3 days, and it smells like an ash-tray. I realize the purchase is as-is, and its mine now, but my dealings with the dealership have re-affirmed my concerns about working with used car dealers in general and Toyota of Tri-cities specifically. They used dishonest marketing and salesmanship to unload a truck that had clearly been owned by a smoker. The truck was priced agressively, and now I know why. However, I am now spending time and money trying to remove smoke smell, so it wasn't such a good deal after-all. My advice to car buyers... don't travel long distances to purchase a vehicle unless you trust your salesman 100%. It puts you in a position where the dealership has leverage over you, and its difficult to walk away from a deal. Also, don't trust toyota of tri cities... would never do business with them again. Dishonest!"

I decided not to purchase due to their asking price. A few days later the dealer lowered the price and I decided to take a look. Living 250 miles away, I asked if they would hold it with a refundable deposit. It took three quotes for the dealer to get the revised estimate correct. Then my wife and I drove from Bend,OR. to the dealership in Kennewick, WA. (250 miles) when we arrived the salesperson tried to close us without even offering to view the truck. I asked if we could see it and when I got in, I asked the salesperson to show me the features and that's when I discovered there was no nav. Needless to say I was very upset. Additionally, there was a mileage gap of over 7000 miles from the carfax report and the odometer. I asked for why the truck had 7000 more miles in the time the had the truck( around a month) but never got an explanation. At that point I left the dealership never to enter their doors again and drove back home. "
