|---|---|---|
| 2025 | $62,155 | $61,979 – $64,277 |
| 2024 | $60,800 | $60,803 – $64,291 |
The Toyota Land Cruiser's current nationwide average price is $63,041, and its year-round low is $62,487.11. 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

- Owners rate the Toyota Land Cruiser between 4.0 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is generally shaped more by maintenance history and prior use than by the model’s core reputation.
What should I look for when buying a used Toyota Land Cruiser?
Across all model years, accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|
| 2027 | 99.6% |
| 2026 | 98.5% |
| 2025 | 97.2% |
| 2024 | 96.8% |
| 2021 | 78.1% |
| 2020 | 77.2% |
| 2019 | 75.9% |
| 2018 | 69.8% |
| 2017 | 61.7% |
| 2016 | 60% |
| 2015 | 62.9% |
| 2014 | 55.2% |
Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2019 models.
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, a road sign reader, automatic high-beam headlights, and Predictive Driving Assist.
- Infotainment: Toyota Audio Multimedia with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus dual 12.3-inch displays.
Which Toyota Land Cruiser trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser offers these trims:
- 1958: This is the best-value trim if you want the retro look, cloth seats, basic equipment, and the lower entry price.
- Land Cruiser: This trim adds a more modern, upscale look, larger screens, a nicer interior, and critical off-roading hardware and software.
What Toyota Land Cruiser do most buyers choose?
The Toyota Land Cruiser years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 1,143 | 34% |
| 2024 | 957 | 35.1% |
| 2026 | 796 | 33.9% |
| 2027 | 249 | 27.7% |
| 2020 | 57 | 17.5% |
| 2019 | 54 | 20.4% |
Higher-volume years tend to be the easiest places to shop because you get more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right price, color, and equipment. They also tend to be the years most buyers gravitate toward when balancing availability and value.
What is the Toyota Land Cruiser's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | $60,800 | −5.44% |
| 2025 | $62,155 | +0.3% |
The table shows a mixed pattern: one recent model year has moved down meaningfully, while the other is essentially flat. That gives used buyers a chance to target the softer-priced year without giving up the newer-generation appeal. The 2025 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year. The 2025 and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Is the Toyota Land Cruiser safe?
- 2025: 7/10
- 2024: 7/10
- 2021: 3/10
- 2020: 7/10
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on the 2025 Land Cruiser.
For the safest used buy, the 2020, 2024 and 2025 models all post the highest confirmed score of 7/10.
Should I buy a used Toyota Land Cruiser now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2024 model is at −5.44% versus a year ago.
- Deal availability: The 2024 model has 35.1% good and great deals.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $62,155. The Toyota Land Cruiser offers a rugged, premium-feeling character that blends capability with comfort.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: Every Land Cruiser has Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid system. It pairs a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an electric motor located between those two components, and the official EPA ratings say a Land Cruiser will get 23 mpg combined.
- Tech: The Toyota Audio Multimedia (TAM) infotainment system is well equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Drive Connect installs a cloud-based navigation system and a conversational digital assistant.
- Safety: Every 2025 Land Cruiser includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0), plus standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
- Starting price: With pricing starting around $60,000, the Land Cruiser begins at a premium level.
If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for 2028 inventory to mature.

The Land Cruiser lives up to all of my expectations, the interior was very comfortable, the instrumentation and obvious technology was impressive ; most impressive was the performance. The handling was comparable to Our Lexus RX450hL.

Very smooth ride. Gas mileage not horrible but not the 25mi as listed. I get about 21 on hwy if I “take it easy” on the gas pedal. I love the look. I put 20in wheels with large 285 tires. Looks Great!

Toyota Land Cruiser test drive
overall

Got somewhere to go? You can count on the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser to get you there.
This two-row midsize SUV is designed for traveling almost anywhere at almost any time. It shares its platform with the rugged Toyota 4Runner SUV and Tacoma pickup truck, and is equipped with a turbocharged hybrid powertrain better at supplying power than efficiency. Additionally, it is more affordable than it has been in the past, but still commands a premium over its primary rivals. The 2025 Land Cruiser is almost unchanged following its 2024 redesign, which introduced the current 250-series model (known as the Land Cruiser Prado overseas) to the United States.
Verdict: There is a lot to like about the Land Cruiser, especially if you don’t care about fuel economy. Our test vehicle averaged 15.7 mpg, falling well short of expectations. That thirst for fuel easily ranks as the worst thing about this SUV. Also, we recommend upgrading from the base 1958 trim level.
