The Rogue is one of Nissan’s most popular vehicles, making its continued success a vital priority for the automaker. It got an overhaul, a new engine, and some trim shuffles not so long ago, making it a compelling, comfortable SUV that won’t break the bank. Though it shares components with the Mitsubishi Outlander, the Rogue does not offer a third row like its counterpart does.

What’s New for the 2024 Nissan Rogue

Nissan revised the Rogue's front and rear fascia for 2024, also updating its wheel designs, color palettes, and interior fittings. Content is updated as well, with higher-end tech options becoming standard at the SL trim level.

Design

Recent Rogue models offer more grown-up styling than earlier versions did, and the latest updates have helped the crossover stand out with sharper lines and a clean overall shape. The LED running lights and headlights live in separate assemblies, and the "V-motion" grille gets different finishes depending on the trim. Top trims get tasteful chrome accents outside and larger wheels, but no versions of the Rogue look overdone or too shouty. The 2024 Rogue is available with a trendy two-tone paint job.

Powertrain

Nissan equips a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with its unique variable compression technology. The engine can change its compression to provide more power or better fuel economy as needed, though the net effect is that it doesn’t particularly excel in either category. It’s paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and either front- or all-wheel drive (FWD or AWD). Fuel economy is decent, at up to 37 mpg highway and 33 mpg combined. There’s no hybrid option like you'll see offered with the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V, but the Rogue’s fuel economy is solid enough to grab buyers’ attention.

Interior

Cloth upholstery comes standard on the 2024 Rogue, but seats in the Rogue S are leather-trimmed, and the Rogue Platinum's are quilted leather. Manual seat adjustments are also standard, while most trims get power-adjustable front seats, and heated seats become standard at the SL trim. The top Platinum model brings an interior that surprises with top-notch material and design, making it one of the nicest spaces in its segment.

Technology

The base-trim Rogue S and one-up SV come with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen running wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but SL and Platinum upgrade to a 12.3-inch HD unit with wireless smartphone connectivity. Other standard tech features include Siri Eyes Free, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, Bluetooth, SiriusXM radio, two USB-C ports up front, and voice recognition. Four speakers are standard, but SV and SL trims get six, and the range-topping Rogue Platinum comes with a 10-speaker Bose Premium Audio system. Wireless charging and a fully digital 12.3-inch gauge cluster are now standard on both SL and Platinum trims.

Safety

The Rogue earned a Top Safety Pick in 2023 from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but the 2024 model hasn’t been tested yet. Standard safety kit includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warnings, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, rear automatic braking, driver-alertness monitoring, and forward collision warnings. Available tech includes a lane-intervention system.

Pricing

Pricing for the 2024 Nissan Rogue is not yet available as of this writing, but as the vehicle is set to go on sale early in 2024, we expect to have that information soon. One value-add of note: The new Rogue comes with three years of NissanConnect Services, where the old one included just six months up front.
