Nissan Rogue Hybrid test drive
overall

The 2027 Rogue Hybrid ushers in the fourth generation of Nissan’s compact crossover SUV with a unique hybrid system.
The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is notable for a number of reasons. It finally brings an in-house hybrid powertrain to Nissan’s compact crossover. It’s not a rebadged Mitsubishi Outlander like the current Rogue Plug-In Hybrid, and it doesn’t have to be plugged in, making it a more direct competitor to hybrid versions of the Honda CR-V, the Hyundai Tucson, the Kia Sportage, the Subaru Forester, and the Toyota RAV4. Last but not least, the hybrid model introduces the redesigned fourth-generation Rogue (the previous-generation non-hybrid continues for 2027) and a hybrid system never before seen in the U.S.
Verdict: Long missing from a hybrid-happy market segment, the Rogue Hybrid is worth the wait. It’s better to drive than rivals, and more stylish inside and out. However, fuel economy is merely acceptable.
