What’s New for the 2023 Lexus LS Hybrid

For 2023, the Lexus LS Hybrid adds wireless smartphone connectivity to its standard features. It also gains the Lexus Advance Drive semi-autonomous driving system.

Design

The Lexus LS Hybrid is visually almost identical to the conventionally powered Lexus LS sedan. It comes standard with 20-inch noise-reduction alloy wheels. It’s also available with smaller 19-inch alloy wheels.

Powertrain

The 2023 LS 500h features a 3.5-liter V6 engine and two electric motors, putting out a combined 354 horsepower. The V6 routes power through a multi-stage continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). This unique combination transmission is optimized for comfort and fuel economy. Power is routed to standard all-wheel drive (AWD). To ensure a serene ride, the LS Hybrid comes standard with an adaptive variable air suspension system.

Fuel economy estimates for the 2023 Lexus LS 500h are 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The LS Hybrid requires premium fuel.

Interior

Due to the model's larger battery, the LS Hybrid’s trunk has a capacity of 15.2 cubic feet (compared to the non-hybrid’s 17 cubic feet). A hands-free power smart trunk is standard equipment.

The LS Hybrid comes standard with nearly every available and optional feature on the conventionally powered LS. Standard features include a push-button start, quad-zone automatic climate control, 28-way power-adjustable massaging front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, 18-way power-adjustable rear seats, heated rear seats, and premium leather upholstery. In fact, one of the only available options is unique Haku (thin, hand-applied metal trim) door inserts.

Technology

A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard equipment on the 2023 LS Hybrid. It has a logical menu layout and an advanced voice client that will respond to complex commands, as well as prompts like “Hey, Lexus…” The infotainment system includes navigation and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Other tech features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, multiple USB ports, and an impressive 23-speaker Mark Levinson premium stereo system.

Safety

The LS Hybrid comes equipped with the Lexus Safety System 2.5+. It features forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure warning with evasive steering assist, dynamic radar cruise control, and automatic high beams. The LS Hybrid also comes with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. As mentioned, the LS Hybrid comes standard with Lexus Advanced Drive. It also comes with Advanced Park Assist.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, the 2023 Lexus LS Hybrid has a base MSRP of $114,635 in its lone trim. The available Haku door trim is a $1,200 option. Aside from individual dealer options, the LS Hybrid comes nearly fully loaded. The LS 500h is backed by an eight-year/100,000-mile hybrid component warranty and a 10-year/150,000-mile battery warranty.
