Is the Lexus LC a good car?
Yes — the Lexus LC is a highly regarded used luxury grand tourer, anchored by an all-generations owner rating of 4.7/5. Owners consistently praise its stunning design, comfortable ride, and powerful engine, while the recurring trade-offs center on limited trunk space and dated infotainment. Expert reviews rate the 2021 model among the highest across all years. The main compromises called out by experts are a cramped back seat, outdated technology, and limited practicality for everyday cargo. 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Lexus LC models reliable?
Owners consistently rate the Lexus LC very highly, and the model’s reputation is reinforced by strong praise for its comfort, style, and performance across the years in the data. Expert commentary also points to a strong reliability reputation and a generally durable long-term character for a luxury grand tourer.
- Owners rate the Lexus LC between 4.6 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is shaped more by model-year condition and maintenance history than by broad reliability concerns.

| 2019 | 83.3% |
| 2018 | 83.8% |
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ with collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, dynamic cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
- Infotainment: Lexus Enform infotainment system with a 10.3-inch digital screen and Android Auto.

Which Lexus LC trim should I buy?
The 2021 Lexus LC offers these trims:
- LC 500: The core V8 model brings the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, 10-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive, and the LC’s signature grand-touring character; it’s the best-value choice if you want the full LC experience with the strongest balance of style and performance.
- LC 500 Convertible: This adds open-air driving, an integrated wind deflector, and a removable rear windscreen, making it the pick if you want the most dramatic version of the LC.
What Lexus LC do most buyers choose?
The Lexus LC years with the most listings are 2022, 2021, and 2019.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 98 | 29.6% |
| 2021 | 86 | 25.6% |
| 2019 | 78 | 33.3% |
| 2018 | 74 | 35.1% |
| 2020 | 69 | 27.5% |
| 2023 | 57 | 29.8% |
Higher-volume years usually give you more shopping choice, which can make it easier to compare condition, mileage, and pricing. They also tend to be the years most shoppers cross-shop first because inventory is deeper.
What is the Lexus LC's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | $80,004 | +22.4% |
| 2021 | $105,698 | +25.01% |
Prices have moved up sharply for both model years shown here, which points to strong demand and limited softness in the used market. That kind of upward movement can make the LC a more expensive buy, but it also signals that well-kept examples continue to command attention. The 2021 and 2018 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.

This is a beautiful design and I believe it will age well. It looks like a piece of sculpture. The interior is done very well and you can see every attention detail was taken care of. The seating was comfortable and the heads up displays were great. Ride quality was also very nice. I did hear some road noise, that may be do to the Run Flat tires. The exhaust sounds are very intoxicating. I would like there to be just a bit more grunt, power. Not that it’s lacking for a GT.

The car is fantastic. Some ride issues improved over the 1st generation. The convertible is a significant improvement over the hardtop for us since loving motorists.
