What’s New for the 2023 Lexus LC Hybrid

The Lexus LC Hybrid was introduced for the 2018 model year. It carries over largely unchanged into the 2023 model year.

Design

While the conventionally powered LC is offered as a coupe and a convertible, the LC Hybrid is only offered as a coupe. The LC Hybrid comes standard with 21-inch forged alloy wheels and black exterior accents.

Powertrain

The LC 500h combines a 3.5-liter V6 with a 1.1-kWh battery and two electric motors to put out a combined 354 horsepower. The V6 routes power through a multi-stage continuously variable transmission (CVT) that was designed specifically for this hybrid luxury coupe. It combines the benefits of a four-speed automatic with those of a CVT to replicate ten selectable ratios.

The LC Hybrid returns fuel economy of 26 mpg city, 33 highway, and 29 combined. This setup requires premium fuel. It can sprint from zero to 60 mph in a claimed 4.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 155 miles per hour.

Interior

Standard features on the LC Hybrid include genuine leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, and a push-button start.

An All-Weather Package adds a heated steering wheel and a windshield de-icer. The Touring Package adds the contents of the All-Weather Package, plus an Alcantara headliner and semi-aniline premium leather front seats. A Sport Package adds upgraded front seats with Alcantara inserts, a glass roof, performance brake pads, and a parking assistant.

Technology

The 2023 LC Hybrid comes with a 12-speaker stereo system and a 10.3-inch display infotainment system. It lacks touchscreen capability, instead using a clumsy remote pad in the center console. This system is set to be replaced in the 2024 edition of the LC. Despite its shortcomings, the current infotainment system includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa. It also comes standard with navigation, multiple USB ports, HD radio, and satellite radio. The LC Hybrid is available with a 13-speaker Mark Levinson premium stereo system.

Safety

Standard driver-assistance features on the 2023 LC Hybrid include forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also comes with pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. It’s available with reverse automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, and a head-up display.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, the 2023 Lexus LC Hybrid has a base MSRP of $100,600 in its lone trim. The Lexus LC Hybrid is backed by an eight-year/100,000-mile hybrid component powertrain warranty. The non-hybrid components are backed by a six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty.
