The Kia K5's current nationwide average price is $23,384, and over the past year it reached a low of $22,132. That gives you a useful snapshot of where this model has been trading recently. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

What should I look for when buying a used Kia K5?

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Kia’s driver-assistance suite includes intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert.
• Infotainment: 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA fuel economy estimate is 29 mpg in combined driving, but our test car averaged 24.9 mpg on our mountainous Southern California testing loop.

Which Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia K5 offers these trims:

• LXS: The affordable entry point, with the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, Kia Connect services, and wireless charging standard starting with GT-Line trim.
• GT-Line: The sporty-looking choice, adding all-wheel drive availability, a navigation system, wireless charging, and Highway Driving Assist; this is the best-value trim for many shoppers who want extra features without moving all the way up the range.
• EX: The upscale pick, bringing the 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel, standard EX-level equipment, and the most premium-feeling cabin presentation in the lineup.
• GT: The performance-focused trim, with the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, 290 hp, 311 lb-ft, an eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, sport-tuned suspension, faster steering ratio, and larger brakes.

What Kia K5 do most buyers choose?

The Kia K5 years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Higher-volume years usually draw more shoppers because they offer a wider selection of prices, trims, and equipment combinations. That also makes it easier for you to compare listings and find a version that fits your budget and feature priorities.

What is the Kia K5's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the model years, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The biggest drops are concentrated in the older years, while the newer years have seen smaller declines. That pattern gives you more room to find value without giving up the newer features and styling.

The 2025, 2024, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Kia K5 safe?

• 2025: 8/10
• 2024: 7/10
• 2022: 9/10
• 2021: 8/10

Kia equips every K5 with a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert.

For the safest used buy, the 2022 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Kia K5 now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −2.3% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −4.98%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 35.1% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 36.4%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $24,580. The Kia K5 offers a stylish design, a comfortable cabin, and a strong overall value proposition that make it easy to live with every day.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The latest model pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 191 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque, and the GT brings 290 hp and 311 lb-ft.
• Tech: The latest model includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Kia Connect services, and wireless charging.
• Safety: The latest model adds Highway Driving Assist, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic braking when reversing during parking.
• Starting price: The latest model's prices range from $28,145 to $35,645.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
