It suits you if you want the full performance setup in one configuration, and it is the best-value choice by default because it is the only trim.
What Hyundai Elantra N do most buyers choose?
The Hyundai Elantra N years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2026.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |

| 2025 | 229 | 34.5% |
| 2026 | 198 | 33.8% |
| 2023 | 165 | 27.9% |
| 2022 | 133 | 25.6% |

What is the Hyundai Elantra N's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | $27,512 | −2.94% |
| 2022 | $26,207 | −1.08% |
Prices are moving lower for both model years shown, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The changes are relatively small, so these years are shifting down without dramatic swings. That makes them easier to evaluate on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on price movement alone.
The 2022 and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Hyundai Elantra N now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2023 model is at −2.94% versus a year ago, and the 2022 model is at −1.08%.
- Deal availability: The 2023 model has 27.9% good and great deals, and the 2022 model has 25.6%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings. The Hyundai Elantra N offers a distinctive performance-focused character that still works as an everyday compact sedan.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: The Elantra N is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four making 276 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque, with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
- Tech: The Elantra N's shining tech feature is the N app, which displays real-time data on the current gear, throttle position, brake pedal pressure, horsepower, and much more, while the dual 10.25-inch displays are crisp.
- Safety: The Elantra N isn’t available with every driver assist feature in Hyundai’s catalog, with the Highway Driving Assist system being one notable absence.
- Starting price: The 2026 Hyundai Elantra N starts at $35,100 and comes in a single trim.
If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for 2027 inventory to mature.

This is by far the best value sports sedan available today. I saved close to 20K over a CTR, GRC, or Golf R.

If the Type-R is the king of FWD compact sport vehicles then the Elantra N is the charismatic opposition looking to step up to be a new contender. I owned an FK8. I believe the FL5 is a refined version of the FK8. Modern and has a QoL improvement. With that being said the EN is just better priced it reaches into the market of customers who want a Type R but don't want a Manual. While the EN does have a 6MT option, it's not as good as Honda's clutch feel and gearbox. With that being said you can make it come close - lots of people have done it online. Final thoughts: You can't go wrong with any in terms of driving experience. I do believe that the Elantra N has a bit more character the way it cuts corners compared to the Type R, but the Type R is overall more planted and has that wider chasis.

Great value. And great everything. I still need to drive it more. It's definitely not like a Z. It sits higher but the inside is nice. The seats are not made for bigger people. But there is a lot of space.

Hyundai Elantra N test drive
overall
Since its introduction, Hyundai's raucous tuner car has learned some manners and it's now more fun to drive.
Six new small cars packing the hottest turbocharged engines and performance upgrades cost between $35,000 and $53,000. The Hyundai Elantra N, at the bottom of that price range, transforms an ordinary compact into a thrilling sports sedan with a high level of power and poise that can be safely extracted on a public road. As a noisy, lowered car with a thirst for high-test gas, the Elantra N appeals solely to enthusiasts who want a track-tuned model from the factory at an affordable price. Despite some obvious faults, the latest Elantra N has been much improved since its first model year (2022). Remarkably, it’s even better with an automatic transmission.
Verdict: Serious performance at an enticing price.
