What should I look for when buying a used Honda Passport?

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2021 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Safety Sense
• Infotainment: 12.3-inch touchscreen display with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: The 2026 Passport should return an EPA-estimated 19 mpg city, 25 highway, 21 combined in RTL trim and 18/23/20 in TrailSport and TrailSport Elite trims.

Which Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Passport offers these trims:

• RTL: This is the entry point and brings the core Passport formula with standard AWD, the 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the model’s roomy, rugged character.
• TrailSport: This is the best-value trim if you want the Passport’s more adventure-focused setup, adding the off-road-oriented hardware and trail-ready personality that define the model’s tougher side.
• TrailSport Elite: This is the most upscale choice, adding the most premium equipment and the most advanced trail-view camera setup for buyers who want the fullest feature set.

What Honda Passport do most buyers choose?

The Honda Passport years with the most listings are 2023, 2022, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they offer a strong mix of availability, pricing, and familiar Passport strengths. They also give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim and deal.

What is the Honda Passport's resale value?

The Passport’s used prices are moving lower across every model year shown, which is good news if you’re shopping for value. The biggest drops are concentrated in the older and mid-cycle years, while the newest model year is changing the least. That creates a clear spread between the most affordable used examples and the newest inventory.

The 2026, 2023, and 2021 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Honda Passport safe?

Should I buy a used Honda Passport now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Sweet-spot year: The 2023 model has the most listings at a current average price of $32,362. The Honda Passport offers a roomy cabin and a practical, comfortable layout that make it easy to live with every day.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Honda’s naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 makes 285 hp and 262 pound-feet of torque, and the 2026 Passport should return an EPA-estimated 19 mpg city, 25 highway, 21 combined in RTL trim and 18/23/20 in TrailSport and TrailSport Elite trims.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
