Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|
| 2026 | 93.6% |

| 2024 | 88.1% |
| 2023 | 86.4% |
| 2022 | 82.4% |
| 2021 | 74.7% |
| 2020 | 71% |
| 2019 | 69.4% |
Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Honda Safety Sense
- Infotainment: 12.3-inch touchscreen display with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto
- Fuel efficiency: The 2026 Passport should return an EPA-estimated 19 mpg city, 25 highway, 21 combined in RTL trim and 18/23/20 in TrailSport and TrailSport Elite trims.
Which Honda Passport trim should I buy?
The 2026 Honda Passport offers these trims:
- RTL: The entry trim brings standard AWD, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a 10.2-inch digital driver display, Honda Safety Sense, roof rails, and 18-inch wheels. It’s the best-value choice if you want the core Passport experience with the broadest everyday usefulness.
- TrailSport: This trim adds the more rugged setup, including skid plates, improved approach and departure angles, all-terrain tires, and a tow hitch. It suits you if you want the Passport’s adventure-focused character and more trail-ready hardware.
- TrailSport Elite: This top trim adds the most upscale and tech-rich setup, including a 12-speaker Bose stereo, TrailWatch camera system, and genuine-leather upholstery. It’s the pick if you want the most premium Passport with the most capability-focused equipment.
What Honda Passport do most buyers choose?
The Honda Passport years with the most listings are 2023, 2022, and 2024.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 1,979 | 37.8% |
| 2022 | 1,925 | 37.1% |
| 2024 | 1,912 | 38.4% |
| 2025 | 1,633 | 36.9% |
| 2026 | 1,149 | 36.2% |
| 2021 | 1,014 | 36% |
These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a strong mix of availability, familiar equipment, and pricing that stays within reach for many shoppers. More listings also usually mean more chances to compare trims, colors, and condition.
What is the Honda Passport's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2019 | $20,284 | −8.23% |
| 2025 | $37,198 | −7.34% |
| 2022 | $29,243 | −6.4% |
| 2020 | $22,211 | −6.33% |
| 2021 | $24,129 | −5.54% |
| 2024 | $35,297 | −5.12% |
| 2023 | $32,250 | −3.3% |
| 2026 | $46,821 | −0.56% |

The 2026 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

Overall a great SUV! We’ve owned Hondas for years and this is the best one they have built and love the body style. It’s got plenty of room for our gear for the boat and kids.

Honda Passport test drive
overall
After seven years in the periphery, the Honda Passport takes center stage.
Redesigned for the 2026 model year, the Honda Passport now targets aspirational lifestyle SUVs, such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Toyota 4Runner. While the Passport name remains, nearly everything else is new–from the exterior to the interior and the engine to the trunk. Honda’s two-row SUV is virtually unrecognizable compared with the outgoing generation.
Verdict: The 2026 Honda Passport is a well-rounded crossover SUV that shines with regards to cargo space and user-friendly tech. However, while the new Passport aims to be more capable off-road than its predecessor, it still lacks key features, such as a locking differential and low-range 4WD, not to mention it carries a high price tag. While not ideal for hardcore off-roaders (it is, after all, a unibody construction), the 2026 Honda Passport is a solid choice for family adventures in need of a comfortable and spacious crossover.
