Rivals include the Porsche Cayenne, the Lincoln Nautilus, the BMW X5, and the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class. ## What’s New for the 2024 Genesis GV80 The Genesis GV80 carries over mostly unchanged for 2024. A Wi-Fi hotspot is newly available, there are some changes to the exterior and interior color palettes, and there are some very minor changes to the features menu (namely, the power-folding third row is no longer available with specific configurations). Otherwise, the GV80 sails along, unhurried and unfussed, into its fourth model year since its 2021 introduction. ## Design The GV80, like all Genesis vehicles, is a knockout. The aviation-inspired grille, lighting, badging, and lines are classy and elegant, and the GV80 wears its size proudly. It’s sleek but imposing, clean but covered in details. It rides on standout alloy wheel designs ranging in size from 19 to 22 inches. This year, Genesis scraps Cardiff Green and Brunswick Green from the exterior palette and a couple upholstery choices from the interior lineup. There are some other finicky color changes that apply only to specific trim level and interior configurations. ## Powertrain The GV80 is available with two turbocharged engine options. The 2.5T models feature a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated for 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, while 3.5T models feature a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine rated for 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD) are standard across the lineup. Fuel economy is average for the segment: The base engine is EPA-rated for 20 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, while V6 models gets 18 mpg city and 23 highway. ## Interior The GV80 is available with two or three rows, in layouts that seat four, five, or seven passengers. Synthetic leather upholstery comes standard, though several grades of genuine leather are available. Seating is comfortable and supportive in every row, with options such as an “ergo-motion” driver’s seat and heated rear seats. With a two-row configuration, the GV80 offers competitive cargo capacity of 34.9 cubic feet beneath the standard hands-free power lift gate, though models with a third row clock in at just 11.6 cubic feet. The seats fold down for a maximum of 84 cubic feet. ## Technology Every GV80 includes a 14.5-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and, this year, a Wi-Fi hotspot gets added across the lineup. Other standard features include a 12-speaker stereo system, navigation, and Bluetooth. The main option here is a Lexicon premium stereo system with a 14-channel external amp and 21 speakers. Overall, the infotainment system looks good and is easy to use. ## Safety The GV80 includes forward-collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, driver-attention monitoring, and front and rear parking sensors. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) named the 2024 Genesis GV80 a 2023 Top Safety Pick+, and it scored a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). ## Pricing As of this writing, Genesis lists pricing for the 2024 GV80 starting at $57,450 for the GV80 2.5T AWD lineup and at $64,600 for the GV80 3.5T AWD lineup. These prices do not include a destination fee of $1,195. The GV80 3.5T AWD in top-tier Prestige Signature trim costs $81,500. The 2024 Genesis GV80 will arrive in showrooms in late 2023.
