The Dodge Charger is on its way out. The full-size sedan with muscle car leanings will be discontinued after the 2023 model year and won’t get an immediate replacement in the Dodge catalog. The automaker is giving the car unique touches for its final year on the market, including a “Last Call” plaque under the hood to designate the car as the final Charger.

Dodge has always offered several configurations of the Charger, and that’s not changed for the last model year. Five standard trims are available: SXT, GT, R/T, Scat Pack, and Scat Pack Widebody. Stepping up to the SRT Hellcat models brings an additional four trims, including Widebody and Redeye models, with more power.

Non-SRT Charger models are available with two powertrain choices for 2023. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 making up to 300 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque in all-wheel drive (AWD) models. A 5.7-liter V8 is available that produces 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. The Hellcat cars get a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that produces 717 or 797 horsepower, depending on the configuration. All models come equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Charger’s interior is simple and features plenty of plastic materials, even in top trims. Cloth upholstery comes standard, but Dodge offers a range of leather upgrades, including Nappa leather, Alcantara, and Laguna leather. Heated front and rear seats are available, and buyers can opt for ventilated front seats in certain configurations. Though the Charger is a large car, its front seats aren’t as spacious as many would expect. The back seat, however, offers excellent accommodations for all, including taller adults. There’s also plenty of space for installing and removing car seats with ease.

A 7-inch touchscreen comes standard, and an 8.4-inch display is available. Dodge is part of the Stellantis brand family, giving it access to the excellent Uconnect infotainment system. Though a newer fifth-generation system is out, the Charger gets Uconnect 4, which is still no slouch. It offers responsive and intuitive interaction with the car and runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Top trims add SiriusXM radio, HD radio, Bluetooth, and additional USB ports.

Dodge offers several advanced driver aids and safety features, but most are added-cost options for the Charger. Available tech includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, forward collision warnings, lane-departure alerts, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.

The 2023 Dodge Charger is on sale now. Prices start at $34,240 for the base SXT trim and climb to more than $56,000 for the Scat Pack Widebody model. Hellcat models start at around $81,000 and top out at more than $90,000. Dodge offers several upgrades and packages that can push the price further, including the almost-$4,000 Daytona Edition Group, a Harman Kardon Audio Group, a Performance Handling options group, and more.
