New Chevrolet Corvette for Sale near Philadelphia, PA
The mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette Stingray offers supercar styling and performance, but it does so while boasting the cost and usability of a far more attainable sports car.
Zora Arkus-Duntov. That name is to Corvette enthusiasts, what John Bonham is to Led Zeppelin aficionados. As far back as the late 1950s, he suggested to General Motors that the Corvette should be a mid-engine sports car. But that decision would have been costly and GM was just fine keeping the ‘Vette profitable. There was a rumor that the C7 Corvette was supposed to have a mid-engine layout, but the recession of the 2000s shut the plan down. Almost 25 years after his death, Arkus-Duntov’s dream came to fruition in the form of the 2020 C8 Corvette.
In moving the engine to behind the driver, the Corvette got an instant boost in performance. It was faster and more dynamic, but there was more to it. The mid-engine placement made the new Corvette less like a step up from the Camaro and more like a world-class exotic car—think Porsche 911 or even a Ferrari or Lamborghini.
But elevating reputation also elevates expectations. Does the mid-engine 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray live up to its newfound supercar reputation? Read on to find out.

What people say
Got an incredible bargain at year end for new car, that was returned due to faults of painting. 2LT interior in tan is rich and deluxe looking a high end build quality. Z51 package included as well- with the awesome adjustable exhaust system which when revved sounds like a true Italian exotic. This was big due to last car being a C5 that was kept well but was way too quiet. Handling and acceleration are absolutely WORLD CLASS.
Great car only issue is access to the battery is difficult.
It’s a great car, lacks nothing, is definitely worth the value
This car looks great, drives great, sounds great with the performance exhaust system.
enjoyable car to drive lots of power for me the hard top is quitter and less noise too early to really give a rating but Ill give a better review in future!
Chevrolet Corvette FAQs
How many miles will a Corvette last?
A well-maintained Chevrolet Corvette can typically last between 150,000 and 200,000 miles. Achieving this high mileage depends significantly on the level of care and maintenance the vehicle receives throughout its life. Regular servicing, timely repairs, and responsible driving habits are crucial to ensure longevity. However, once a Corvette reaches the 150,000-mile mark, it is more likely to encounter serious issues that may require substantial repair costs.
What year Corvette is the cheapest?
The most affordable way to own a Corvette is to look for a fourth-generation model, known as the C4, which was produced between 1984 and 1996. These models are generally the cheapest due to their age and the high production numbers during those years. Despite the lack of dramatic styling changes over their production run, the C4 Corvettes received consistent updates and improvements, making them a great entry point for Corvette enthusiasts on a budget.
Why are Corvettes so expensive?
Corvettes are expensive due to several factors. They are built with strong, high-quality materials, including a specialized frame and body materials that enhance performance and durability. The manufacturing process for sports cars like the Corvette requires more skill and precision, contributing to higher production costs. Additionally, the limited production numbers and the brand's focus on delivering a premium driving experience justify the higher price point. Corvette's reputation for performance and exclusivity also plays a role in its cost.
What is the downside of owning a Corvette?
One common downside of owning a Corvette is its low ride height, which can be a challenge for some drivers. The low profile can make entering and exiting the vehicle difficult, and it may also pose problems when driving over speed bumps or uneven terrain. Additionally, the Corvette's sporty design can sometimes compromise ride comfort and practicality. Despite these drawbacks, many owners find that the thrilling driving experience and iconic status of the Corvette outweigh these inconveniences.
Is the Chevrolet Corvette a good car?
CarGurus experts gave the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette an overall rating of 8.2/10 and Chevrolet Corvette owners have rated the vehicle a 4.6/5 stars on average.
