How much does the Cadillac Escalade ESV cost in today's market?

Used Cadillac Escalade ESV prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Cadillac Escalade ESV's current nationwide average price is $54,127, and its nationwide average price reached a low of $47,797 over the past year.

Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Cadillac Escalade ESV a good car?

Yes — the Cadillac Escalade ESV is a strong choice if you want a luxury SUV built around space, comfort, and technology. The all-generations owner rating is 4.68/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Escalade ESV for its luxurious feel, spacious interior, and powerful performance. They also highlight its advanced technology, smooth ride, and generous cargo room, which make it especially appealing for family travel and long trips.

The main tradeoffs across recent expert-reviewed years are poor fuel economy, high pricing, and, in some years, advanced safety features that are reserved for higher trims or optional equipment.

35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Cadillac Escalade ESV models reliable?

• Owners rate the Cadillac Escalade ESV between 3.67 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is tied mainly to age, mileage, and the cost of keeping a large luxury SUV in top shape, so a careful inspection and service-history review matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used Cadillac Escalade ESV?

Across all model years, at 74% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Super Cruise
• Infotainment: a curved 38-inch OLED screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging, NFC phone pairing, and seven USB ports
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA hasn't rated the Escalade ESV for fuel economy but has done the traditional Escalade, which gets an EPA-estimated low of 17 mpg combined and a high of 23 mpg combined. RWD versions are more efficient. During a week of testing that epitomized combined driving situations including some idle time, the RWD Escalade ESV tester was averaging around 18 mpg—far better than what was anticipated.

Which Cadillac Escalade ESV trim should I buy?

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV offers these trims:

• Luxury: the entry point, with the upscale exterior treatment, 22-inch wheels, and luxury-focused equipment that suits buyers who want the Escalade ESV experience in its most accessible form.
• Premium Luxury: adds more chrome styling and a more upscale presentation, making it the best-value trim for many shoppers who want a richer look and feel.
• Sport: brings blacked-out exterior accents and darker wheels for a more aggressive appearance.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: adds the most lavish trim-level treatment in the lineup, including the platinum-style design details.
• Sport Platinum: combines the Sport trim's blacked-out styling with the Platinum-level upscale treatment.

What Cadillac Escalade ESV do most buyers choose?

The Cadillac Escalade ESV years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2022.

These higher-volume years tend to be the easiest places to shop because you get more inventory to compare, which can make it simpler to find the right trim, color, and equipment mix. They also tend to attract more used buyers because they balance newer features with a wider selection of listings.

What is the Cadillac Escalade ESV's resale value?

The table shows broad year-over-year price declines across every listed model year, which is good news if you're shopping used and want to benefit from softer pricing. The drops are mostly double-digit, so the market is moving down meaningfully rather than inching lower. A few years are falling a bit less than the steepest declines, but the overall pattern still favors used buyers.

The 2019, 2017, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Cadillac Escalade ESV safe?

• 2021: 7/10

Every Escalade ESV comes standard with front automatic braking, front and rear park assist, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian detection, rear pedestrian detection, safety seat alert, lane-keep assist, and forward-collision assist.

For the safest used buy, the 2021 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.
