What’s New for the 2024 Audi S8

The S8 is largely unchanged for the 2024 model year. The only update is a now-standard remote start feature that is accessed via the Audi smartphone app.

Design

The Audi S8 comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, and it is available with 21-inch alloy wheels. The S8 is also available with the Black Optics Plus Package, which adds unique black wheels, black Audi badging, and black exterior trim.

Powertrain

The beating heart of the Audi S8 is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. It produces 563 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). This setup allows the S8 to rocket from zero to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 155 mph. The S8 also comes equipped with four-wheel steering and a sport adaptive suspension system to help ensure the S8 is precise through corners while also soaking up most bumps in the road.

The S8 returns EPA-estimated fuel economy of 15 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined. The Audi S8 requires premium fuel.

Interior

The 2024 Audi S8 is offered in a single trim that comes exceptionally well-equipped. Standard features include 22-way power-adjustable front seats with heated, ventilation, and massage features, quad-zone automatic climate control, remote start, a multicolor LED ambient lighting system, a panoramic sunroof, and Valcona premium leather upholstery. An available rear sear comfort package adds heat, ventilation, and power-adjustment capability to the rear seats.

Technology

The infotainment setup consists of two touch screens in the center of the dash. The 8.6-inch lower screen operates vehicle functions such as climate control and overall settings. The upper screen is where you operate the navigation, as well as entertainment functions, including Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. The 2024 S8 also comes standard with a fully digital instrument panel, four USB ports, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system.

Safety

The S8 comes loaded up with plenty of standard driver-assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 360-degree parking camera system, and front and rear parking sensors. The available Executive Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and lane-keeping assist. Other available safety features include a night vision camera and a head-up display.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, the 2024 Audi S8 has a base MSRP of $120,600. The Black Optics Plus package adds $2,100, and the Executive Package tacks on another $4,050. The Rear-Seat Comfort Package costs between $4,200 and $5,900. The Comfort Plus Package adds on $4,700, and the Predictive Active Suspension is a $6,000 standalone package. The Audi A8 is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty.
