The Audi RS5 is a high-tech, high-performance machine with modern, sharp styling. The 2022 Audi RS5 Sportback builds on all the fantastic attributes of the racy coupe, but with the added utility of four doors and a power rear liftback that provides access to a helpful 35 cubic feet of cargo space. For 2022, Audi shakes up and simplifies the trim offerings for the RS5 Sportback. It also adds standard wireless Android Auto to the existing tech feature lineup.

As the range-topping performance variant of the A5 lineup, the RS 5 Sportback comes very well equipped, including a standard panoramic moonroof, tri-zone climate control, Nappa leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, illuminated door sills, and carbon fiber interior accents. The sport bucket seats feature unique stitching and enhanced side bolstering to keep you planted during hard cornering.

The cabin is highlighted by Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, a fully digital instrument panel that can be customized to the driver’s preferences. The RS 5 Avant comes standard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Other features include wireless device charging, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system.

The 2022 Audi RS5 Sportback is powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6. It produces 444 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic to Quattro all-wheel drive with a sport rear differential. This powertrain allows the RS5 Sportback to sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 155 mph. This top speed can be optionally raised to 174 mph.

More than just straight-line speed, the RS 5 Sportback features a taut suspension and precise steering. The driving experience can be further upgraded with options such as ceramic brakes, adaptive and adjustable sport suspension, sport exhaust, and dynamic steering.

According to the EPA, the RS5 Sportback returns fuel economy of 18 mpg city, 25 highway, and 21 combined. This powertrain requires premium fuel.

The RS 5 Avant comes standard with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Audi RS5 Sportback is $76,200. An available Bronze Styling Package adds $12,000 to the price. Additional styling and performance upgrades can bring the price north of $100,000. The RS 5 is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty.
