The 2024 Audi Q5 Plug-In Hybrid, or PHEV, combines the refined versatility of the Q5 compact SUV with a fuel-efficient powertrain that allows for some all-electric driving. Audi treats it as a trim of the Q5, identified by the "55 TFSI e" designation.
What’s New for the 2024 Audi Q5 Plug-In Hybrid
The Q5 PHEV gets new standard features for the 2024 model year, including a heated steering wheel and lane-keeping assist. Additionally, the Black Optics Package is now available in more trims.
Design
The Q5 Plug-In Hybrid has a modern yet restrained design which we expect will age well. Trims for the 2024 Q5 Plug-In Hybrid are Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The Premium trim comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, and the Premium Plus steps up to 19-inch alloy wheels. The Prestige adds Matrix design LED headlights with onboard headlight washers. A Sport Plus package adds unique 20-inch alloy wheels with summer performance tires. The Black Optics package also adds 20-inch alloys, as well as unique dark exterior accents.
Powertrain
The Q5 55 TFSI e comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It works with a 17.9-kWh battery pack and an electric motor to put out a combined 365 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). The plug-in hybrid Q5 can scoot from zero to 60 mph in five seconds and reach a top speed of 130 mph, and its powertrain also allows for up to 23 miles of pure electric driving before it operates as a hybrid. In electric vehicle (EV) mode, it has a top speed of 84 mph. The charging port is located on the rear driver’s side section of the car, and with a Level 2 charger, the battery can be recharged in 2 to 2.5 hours. EPA fuel economy estimates have not yet been made available.
Interior
The Premium trim comes fitted with push-button start, leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and remote keyless entry. The Prestige adds ventilated front seats, heated and cooled cup holders, and rear sunshades.
Technology
The standard infotainment setup on the 2024 Q5 Plug-In Hybrid is a 10.1-inch touchscreen that runs Audi’s intuitive MMI system. It also includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 10-speaker stereo, HD radio, and a pair of USB ports. The Premium Plus adds a fully digital instrument panel, satellite radio, and a 19-speaker stereo system. The Prestige includes hands-free parking assist, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless device charging.
Safety
The 2024 Q5 is well-equipped from a safety standpoint. Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Stepping up to the Premium Plus trim adds a 360-degree parking camera, and the Prestige adds traffic-sign recognition and a head-up display.

At the time of this writing, the 2024 Audi Q5 55 TFSI e has a base MSRP of $57,800 for the Premium trim, $49,400 for the Premium Plus, and $54,900 for the range-topping Prestige. The Audi Q5 Plug-In Hybrid is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty.
