The 2023 Audi A5 is a sleek, modern luxury coupe that combines practicality with performance and the latest in-car technology. The A5 is available in Coupe, Cabriolet, and Sportback body styles (the last is covered in a separate review). The Cabriolet features a classic soft top that can be operated at speeds up to 31 mph. It can be lowered in 15 seconds and raised in 18 seconds.

Trims for the A5 are Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. Standard equipment on the Premium includes a power open/close trunk lid, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a 10-speaker premium stereo, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For 2023, the Premium trim now also comes with new 18-inch, five-double-spoke wheels and Matrix-design LED headlights. Moving up to the Premium Plus trims adds a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel that Audi calls “Virtual Cockpit,” satellite radio, memory driver’s seat settings, wireless device charging, and adaptive cruise control that can stop and go with traffic. For 2023, A Bang and Olufsen premium sound system is now standard on the Premium Plus trim.

The range-topping Prestige trim includes features such as heated rear seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a head-up display, and navigation.

The 2023 Audi A5 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It makes 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to Quattro all-wheel drive. Drivers can make the most of this powertrain with Audi Drive Select, which includes Comfort, Auto, Dynamic (sport), and Individual (custom) drive modes.

The A5 Coupe returns fuel economy of 24 mpg city, 31 highway, and 27 combined. The A5 Cabriolet returns 23 mpg city, 31 highway, and 26 combined. The A5 requires premium fuel.

Base MSRP for the 2023 Audi A5 Coupe is $46,200 for the Premium. The Premium Plus starts at $51,800, and the Prestige trim starts at $55,950.
