I don't usually do reviews but this required one. Getting information from the dealership was like pulling teeth. Long response times (or none at all), incomplete answers, answering questions I didn't ask, then silence. I was notified by CarGurus, not the dealer, the car had been sold. If the dealership was working with someone else on finalising a deal, they should have just said that versus wasting my time.

I drove there and did my test drive, then we started to make a deal. I didn't like the numbers, and I said as much. They offered me far less for my vehicle than I felt it was
worth, and did not move on their asking price at all. At a point where you would think they would try to adjust, the sales manager left the active conversation to go answer his
mobile phone on what you could tell was a personal call. I sat awkwardly then with the salesman for a few minutes. I mentioned that this was not looking good and that i
would just be leaving. He said - "I'll go tell him." and he got up and went over and sat with the manager. I sat for a few more minutes then got up and slowly left the sales floor
and ultimately the dealership. I did get a generic email the following day asking if I was still interested in buying a car from them, which was comical at best.

Summarized visit.
Try to pressure you into a monthly payment on the spot without a breakdown of what is in the payment and terms.
Noticed they tried to run with my down payment if i were to sign.
Add on warranties that were never disclosed nor discussed.
a ridiculous $1,499 auto care bundle for that dealership alone, for 2 car washes, and 2 oil changes.
Overall, thank goodness i said no and broke down the payment myself, and actually went to another dealership nearby to get a car far more loaded at the same price
they set at.

McCarthy Chevrolet Lees Summit. He never pushed me towards a certain vehicle, he listened to what I wanted and needed, and even
though it was a FORD he found a great dependable, reliable, low miles, beauty of a vehicle. Josh stayed in contact with me every time I
had a question, or when he would find something that might work he would send me information and even video on it if I wanted further
information. Josh found the best one that would work for me and it had more bells and whistles than I could even imagine, and he got me
preapproved! So after I got there and test drove it, I was not disappointed and then told I couldn't get it. Then Brian Knight found an even
better financer for me and even got me a warranty through them! The atmosphere inside was so chill, and everyone treated you like a

I bought this truck. I really like the truck but I wasn't really impressed after buying it. They told me a different price from what I actually paid out the door. He told me I was getting a discount on my warranty as well as gap but didn't realize until I looked on the memory stick a few days later, I ended up paying 5150 for a powertrain warranty. I never once heard anything about that much money and I've never paid that much for a warranty. If you go here to buy a vehicle, make sure you read everything really well. Expensive lesson on my part.

This car is not on the lot. I went to test drive it and they "couldn't find it".
This dealership was totally shady to the point of having a car listed for one price
($6000) and then when the paperwork came the total was $8300. They added on
warranties and the cost of floor mats that were not requested. I planned on paying
cash for the car and moving it to another state where the warranties would not have
been useful. They refused to take off the unnecessary warranties and as you can
see they increased the price. They also did the same thing to my daughter when she
bought her SUV 3 months ago and STILL have not received the floor mats she paid
for... Very disappointing for a dealership to act so shady... I bought the same exact
car at a different dealership for $6000. Do not go to them unless you don't mind
paying for the hidden fees!!
I put my app in and noone contacted me I call continuously and finally a sales person called to ssy he had been out of office because he dad had been in hospital so I understood I asked if yhe ptice was negotiable he said yes becsuse auto had been in lot for a minute so I said great only for him to text me snd say I needed to put $8K down so asked uf he would drop price by $2k & I would put $6k down for him to send a long text about how they had another buyer and i wasnt ready to buy so I advise i wad ready to buy when I placed it was his dealership that didnt get back 2 me and I could have put the $8,K down because I knew were I wanted my pymts 2 be he then when on about this other buyer so i advise not ggod customer service and I was taking by bus. Elsewhere DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER

We received a video of the truck we were looking at immediately. There was
another buyer interested in this vehicle so Ken said he would let us know if it
was still available so we didn't have to make the 2 hour trip to see it. Lucky for
us the other buyer wasn't able to buy it so we drove up to see it. Ken was not
available that day so he recommended Charlie to us and he was great. He
had the truck right out front and we test drove it right away. We had some
quick negotiations and ended up buying the truck. We are very happy with the
truck and would absolutely go to this dealership again.

I live over an hour away and wanted pictures of the vehicle I was interested in. They kept giving me the run around. Never sent pictures. The emailed me and texted me everyday. Trying to get me to come there and test drive cars. I was only interested in one. They kept texting and emailing even after they sold the vehicle.

Doug Harding was my sales person, he answered all my questions and made sure I knew exactly what was going on The entire time.
The whole time I was at the dealership the entire staff was very lively and super nice! Definitely a great place to purchase a car.

This place was promising... at first. They had a Chevrolet 2500HD Crew cab I was extremely interested in. They didn't have much information on line so I requested more information and they reached out very quickly. The just received the truck and were still 'inprocessing' it then and said they would get me more pictures and information about the truck that I had questions about. Said they would get back with all that later that day or early the next day. Well by the end of the next day I still didn't hear anything from them so I called to see what was going on. Turns out they hooked up somebody who worked at the dealership and sold it to them before I even had a chance. Thanks y'all, great customer service..............

My experience buying a car at McCarthy Chevrolet was great all around. I received a quick email response to my initial inquiry, they were flexible with my schedule, and they answered all of my questions (I had a lot to ask) when I went in for a test drive and to discuss financing. The vehicle was as expected, I felt that I was treated well by the staff, and it was made sure that I understood all of the details throughout the buying process. In my months of searching online, I found the price of the vehicle at McCarthy was lower than that of similar vehicles at other dealerships (same make and model, similar miles and features, etc.). I would definitely recommend this dealership to others.

Horrible - bait and switch - vehicle instantly was "purchased by others" when I
submitted a loan application. Then the salesman has the gall to ask me "well
that truck is gone let me know what you're looking for and I'll try to find you a
vehicle" - after emailing back and forth for over a week on a vehicle shouldn't

I received multiple emails from two different individuals (who ended up
not to be the sales person assigned to me) but when I came into the
store neither one was available. I was eventually directed to a manager
who identified and paired me with my sales person. We test drove the
Challenger and I have decided to purchase a different vehicle.

My experience with them is good, but I honest believe some dealers
advertise vehicles as better than what they are, ie list a Ford F150 XLT as
a Lariat just to lure people into making contact in order to try and sell
them something else. This has happened to me on more than one
occasion. Maybe I am wrong but their response when I contact them to
confirm that it is a Lariat is "oh we are sorry we will correct the mistake
what are you looking for? We have can find whatever vehicle you need"
but I usually continue to see them incorrectly advertised for weeks until
they finally just disappear for whatever reason. Just feels like the ol bait
and switch to me!

McCarthy Chevrolet did return my emails and provided me with requested photos. I was going to purchase this vehicle until I received the photos of the rust on the vehicle. That is what terminated the deal. Internet sale staff was very prompt in answering my questions and concerns. I would recommend McCarthy Chevrolet to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle online.

Drove 45 mins to see a car they said was available and when I get there they tell me it was sold last night. Immediately left.
Said they could do all these things to the
truck that I needed done. In the end,
they would only do a couple of minor
things.
Gave me the "someone is trying to buy it
out from underneath us", routine.
I don't take well to bull hockey.
I found a newer truck at a different
dealership, and they had no problem
taking care of my needs.
Btw, I saved a couple thousand and got
$1500 more for my trade.
I have enjoyed driving past that truck
that someone was "going to buy out
from underneath me", for the last few
weeks.
Friendly staff. Just can't stand the used
car salesman routine. I've heard plenty of
bull hockey. I don't want to hear it when
I'm going to spend that much money.
Nothing but red flags.

Very thoughtful in trying to arrange a drive of there car. Was a nice touch to see the video of the car before I went to drive it. Unfortunately my wife now wants a smaller car so a new search is on.

My emails were all answered quickly and I got answers to all of my questions. I found that the staff worked well together and did a great job of communicating with each other so I felt important at all times. I would recommend this dealership if you don't want all of the games and want straight forward answers from down to earth people. We had a fun test drive with Jenise who helped us "push buttons" to find all of the cool features the car had to offer. Her laid back low pressure approach I found refreshing as well. I felt this dealership was working to the best of their abilities to get me into the vehicle I was seeking. Stop by and see for yourself. Two thumbs up guys. Keep up the good work!
