I was setup to meet at 10am 2/7/2026 about a 2024 black Dodge Durango GT it was sold 2/6/2026 No one contacted me I was about to drive 45 minutes for no reason BAD BUSINESS!

I am honestly baffled by some of the previous reviews that were less than stellar for this dealership. My entire experience was wonderful. They were very responsive and quick to return calls/texts. The sales/finance team worked to quickly get me the terms that I needed even though my credit was less than perfect and helped me to get my desired vehicle without trying to talk me into something less than what I wanted. They helped me with the trade in process and communicated with me every step of the way through the sale. I was extremely pleased with the terms of my loan and what was offered to me. It is a smaller dealership with a more small town feel but to me that is a plus! I felt comfortable through the whole process and genuinely felt like my business mattered to them even if it was just a lower end used car sale. This was one of the best dealership experiences I have had.

Quick response. Found different vehicle.
I purchased a 2013 Q5 from here at the end of October 2023. The Laporte Chrysler sales rep (we'll call him SB) had assured me that the vehicle had passed inspection from the service dept. and was mechanically sound.
About a week later it started to misfire. Swapped the plugs and coils, but it didn't improve. When I took it into the Audi dealership, they showed me on video that there is a hole burned through the third valve from a lifetime of oil consumption. You can imagine it takes longer than a week to cause that kind of damage, they assured me so.
I reached out to SB about the issue and he said the owner was willing to help fix it at-cost if I could bring it in for service. I agreed and was told the service dept. would reach out.
They did not.
After contacting SB again a week later regarding bringing it in, I finally got a response from a service tech (we'll call TL) who told me it would be $13-16.5k to replace the engine, without even allowing me to get the vehicle in to look at.

Sales staff are not so pushy and you are able to get a word in edge wise. They try to make sure you are not overwhelmed and have to make a decision right there and then. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Tim Smith (Owner) and his crew are a bunch of shady crooks. I know this because 1 year ago I drove from NY to Indiana to buy a Silver 392. However upon arrival Tim wouldn’t let me test drive the vehicle and he “adjusted” the price $15,000. So when I contacted La Porta to try and buy this Eco Diesel Rubicon they try and pull the same thing. I asked them if they could email me a copy of the window sticker to my email so I could see what option are on there and what pricing is directly from Jeep. I couldn’t get Tim or his staff to email me a copy of the window sticker. I also couldn’t get them to negotiate down on this vehicle. Again Tim, people like me are NOT new in the Jeeping industry or world. I ended up custom ordering a 392 for under MSRP. So if you think I am going to pay over, you are crazy. Tim you and your staff honestly pray on Ill informed people to come in and not look at the window sticker and just buy a Jeep, no negotiating or anything. Shady at best.
Was quick to respond to my inquiry when we picked it up we were in and out rather quickly truck was clean and full of fuel Wich was unexpected but greatly appreciated we had a problem with brake booster nothing they could have predicted but none the less it was still driveable but hard to push brake peddle down I called and told them about it and with us living almost 200 miles away they didn't say bring it back and they'll look at it they said take it to nearest gmc
dealer and have it diagnosed and fixed and they paid for it all in all it was one of our better experiences when buying a vehicle would definitely recommend people to go there
Called many times to receive info on a $110,000 car build they had for sale. I contacted them myself 3 times and different days. Had an
excuse every time I called as to why no one called back. Still have not had a call back so they lost this sale. Also after giving up on the call I
noticed they raised the price of the car literally $40,000. lol wut?
Many dealers can make the buying experience painful with their games. My purchase was
straight forward and Bob Wiles my salesman made the internet purchase easy including arranging
shipping of the car. I bought a Hellcat Redeye a fun car and it was nice and much appreciated
that Bob made the whole experience fun. A concept many other dealers fail to understand. Much
thanks to La Porte Chrysler.
Tim smith was the best; quick,reliable, and always in communication with me every step of the way I’m glad we were able to work out a deal and I was able to take my dream car home. He was very upfront and straight to the point with my payment and down payment amount. I was very pleased and will definitely be coming back !

Great Experience. Even though the car wasn't for me.
I drove over 5 hours after contacting this Dealership and scheduling an appointment to buy a vehicle from their lot. After endless hours of looking online, I found exactly what i was looking for, 250 miles from home. I reached out immediately. When I spoke on the phone to the person that contacted me, I asked the potential of selling the car before leaving home. I was assured that would not happen with my confirmed appointment. I received several appointment reminders and confirmed. I was even contacted by text while on the drive to the Dealership, confirming the appointment.
Of course, the car was sold car before I arrived. Wow. Beware of Internet communication. As it turns out, the person that I spoke to on the phone and confirmed my appointment with, was in another state as well. They had NO clue, as to the status of the vehicle when they spoke to me. Very BAD business practice.

Sales agent wasn’t to informative via texting didn’t respond to my texts to quickly and didn’t seem interested in the sale when I asked for a carfax report! That’s when communication stopped!
At first not hard to contact, however, when I had wanted to purchase a vehicle “over the phone” that’s when I kept getting the run-around. I called several times and spoke to several different people who didn’t know about the vehicle I was interested in and despite them telling me they would have someone get back to me, no one ever called me back for over 2 wks. I was ready to buy, they just needed to get me someone willing to do the purchase but I couldn’t seem to get anyone to sell it to me. Anyway, I searched the country waiting for a vehicle like this to come along and I really wanted it, so persistently I kept calling and finally got in touch with someone willing to help me with a sale long distance. The sale went fine with the pick-up of the vehicle and wrapping up paperwork through emails and mail. We did have another communication issue after the purchase and again it was hard getting the right person who knew what to do to fix it but overall we got a good deal on our car.

Never provided the information I asked for.
Just kept emailing me wanting me to make an appointment, or to give my phone number, and ignored my
questions completely.
Told me the truck was sold. Three weeks later, the truck is still on the site. I believe it's a bait post.

This dealership is heads above the rest that we have ever dealt with. Craig’s knowledge and professionalism was displayed in everything he did. We bought a 2019 dodge Van and it was amazing. It looked brand new!! Craig’s standard were above and beyond!! Will definitely recommend him and the entire dealership to anyone!! If you are looking for a great vehicle go see Craig!!

A 2 because they have a great selection of vehicles. I stopped and met with the sales professional which I had previous correspondence with. My questions were about what I needed for a down payment to get a lease under a certain threshold. He left me in the lobby for about 10-15 minutes and as he is walking towards me at his desk, speaks across the room, "$17,000". He goes on to explain that even though I told him where my credit was and my income level, he needed to run a credit check and see hard copies of my info to give me a real number. All my research indicated that he was about$10k to high and was just throwing a random number out as perhaps he didn't see me as a serious buyer. I am currently speaking with a different dealership. I anticipate a sale next week based on our conversations thus far, which have been nothing but transparent, pleasant and not based on fiction. Keep in mind, this is only one member of their staff.
Walked in (pre-approved) told them which car I was interested in. Drove it and signed the papers the following day and took it home. They are even helping me with a few small cosmetic issues on the car. I enjoyed and appreciated the experience. Top notch! Easy missing any pressure at all.
