I very disappointed with the staff lack of communication within the dealership. I was first informed that the vehicle was available and that I can place a $500 retainer fee to preserve the vehicle. When I called to let them know that I was stopping by the dealership to make a deposit on the vehicle I was informed the vehicle was no longer available..

Price listed on CarGurus was misrepresented. The actual price of the car was $2,000 higher. They say the listed price is the “finance price,” but there's nothing that indicates that. Really not an honest approach.

Watch out for the many hidden fees. Not the usual dealership fees, but Empire (and perhaps others) does not show the value of the car in CarGuru. They 'hide' a down payment and also a reconditioning fee. On a $22,000 car listed on CarGuru, they added an additional $2500 down payment and $2500 reconditioning fee bringing the car price to $27,000 without even including the 'traditional' dealership fees and taxes. They explained their strategy was to get the customer in the chair...very disappointing and frustrating.

They are basically a scam rip off as they advertise a different price but when you go there they come with a different prices they were charging me $5500 on the price advertised in CarGurus website also very rude staff and The sales person did not let me meet the manager very very disappointing

buyer beware, very misleading, the price on carguru AND their website doesn’t reflect honestly. The true price is hidden away in fine print in the dealers notes and you should run that math yourself. Asking for an explanation felt like they wanted to be confusing on purpose (even the manager i worked with said he got confused at one point). The most expensive fees are made up horse crap that they apply just to make their money back even if you finance with them to that “internet special”. Not worth the trouble look elsewhere!

READ THE FINE PRINT! Worked with Alicia who knew I was traveling a distance to come see two used 2023 Sante Fe Hybrids. After a pleasant call and test drive, the games began. I was informed about a "finance for price is reflective after $1995 down." I'll take the blame for not reading this on their site. I was then told by a manager that I could get $4K off "ANY" Sante Fe but had to buy that evening. After walking away, Alicia turned up the heat and started pushing for a new vehicle sale versus what I came in to buy. When I did not express interest in this option and asked for an out the door price on the auto we had driven, the price increased another $2K and was out the door for over $38K! I pleasantly passed (clearly NOT a fair offer) and departed. In summary not a pleasant transaction. Alicia was well informed about my intentions to pay cash, transfer my existing registration and that I had no trade before I agreed to set up an appointment to come in. Buyer beware.

Disappointed. I am glad that I read the reviews. The price in CarGurus does not match with the real price. Read the seller description, the price here is after down payment. BAD Business Practice. At the end, the price is the same as any competitor so it is a waste of time. Empire Hyundai needs to be more transparent and implement better business practices.

I recently had the misfortune of visiting Empire Hyundai in new rochelle , expecting to purchase a Hyundai vehicle. My experience was an unmitigated disaster, and I'm compelled to warn others. Initial Contact I browsed Empire Hyundai's website and found a vehicle listed for $26,000. I called to confirm the price and was assured by the sales representative that there were no hidden charges. She encouraged me to visit, stating that the price was final. The Shocking Truth Upon arrival, I was stunned to discover the actual price was $34,000 - a staggering $8,000 increase! The sales team's excuses and justifications were unconvincing, and I felt deceived. Warning to Others Avoid Empire Hyundai at all costs. Verify pricing in writing, and don't rely on verbal assurances. Be cautious of hidden fees and misleading advertising. I had a CONFIRMED appointment through Hailey Fletcher for 12:15 today, Friday, August 2, 2024. I left my house at 11:00, hit into a lot of traffic, and arrived at the dealership at 12:07. I met with a very nice salesman Eric who informed me that 2 people were waiting ahead of me to test drive the car I contacted Hailey about. I asked him what was the point of having a CONFIRMED appointment, and all he really could do was apologize. I said it wasn’t his fault. I left dealership at 12:20 and arrived 1:45. I wasted 3 hours of my life that I can’t get back! Thank you Hailey Fletcher for NOTHING! Skip this dealership!

STAY AWAY! Scammers. This dealer is why some dealers have a bad rep. Called this dealership to purchase a car outright. Car listed online at $14k with $2k down. I asked if that would mean the car was $16k to buy outright. The woman on the phone said yes. I said I had $15k in my budget and was trying to work out how to come up with additional money to purchase at the higher price. Received another call from someone else at the dealership. A man who now said the price was $18k. Have worked with many dealerships before and never encountered shady business like these people have going on.

When I first sat down I was told that there wouldn't be any hidden expenses tacked onto the price.The only thing that I had to pay were the price of the car plus taxes and DMV fees. The salesperson then left me sitting there for 1/2 hour-45 minutes. When she came back now I had to pay a fee to get the car certified ($1400 plus). I thought that the car was already certified since that's how it was advertised. Why did I have to pay for that? From what I had seen on the internet I was figuring out different scenarios as far as pricing, taxes, down payment & trade In. My payment was very doable. Payment was $340-$375. When I saw the financial person he tacked on another $3000 for something that I just can't remember at this time. When he figured everything out payments came out to be around $648. Ridiculous! I should have walked out then. I had planned on putting down $10000 but wound up putting down $18000. Which I didn't want to spend that extra. Final total $41000 +

Didn't buy it because dealer needed title since it had been used as a loaner. Instead bought 2023 Venue SEL new with 3.49% financing. All good. If they are ever able to sell this one, grab it! Perfect with full warranty. Just make sure of your financing rate since you can't get the Hyundai deal.

I was contacted because the price seems favorable to me but upon further review it turns out that it was a much much higher price than what was advertised on car gurus. I told the rep I wasn't interested anymore, and she kept calling me over a couple of days asking me if I changed my mind and I said please don't call me anymore. Price listed on car gurus was about 5900. The rep on the phone told me it was really closer to 8k and that is with financing lol. So I said I'll pay cash and was told okay now its 10k cash walk out the door??? Seems to me that the difference between roughly 8-10k is that they want you to finance and do business through a loan because of whatever incentives the bank gives the dealership, but if you flat out pay for the car in cash they raise the price to capitalize on the period of time you should have been in the loan. I honestly wouldn't pay more than 6k for the car, it's had more than 3 owners and 1 accident reported on the vin and over 100k in mileage.

This car was already sold but they told me they had 3 others I could look at in same price range. When I got to the showroom, they did not have one! I even followed up the night before to make sure before I traveled over an hour that the cars would be there. Cam, our salesman, was great. The manager, however, not so much. Didn’t have the decency to come out and acknowledge the situation. Certainly not worth the trip.

The dealership reached out to tell me the car was still available and wanted to set up a time for a test drive. A couple days later, I called them to ask a couple questions about the car and that we wanted to see it. The dealership told us that the car was there and we set an appointment for that day. We drove the 2 hours from our home in NJ to the dealership (and had to pay at least $25 in tolls) to find out the car had been sold the DAY BEFORE! They had just told us the car was still available on the phone. So they are either very unorganized or they outright lied to us. We wasted 5 hours and a significant amount of money in tolls with driving and waiting for them to figure out what to do. We are VERY UNHAPPY and will never use this dealership to buy a vehicle.

Never trust them- they don’t have those “cheap internet ” cars. I showed them 3 ads - and everytime it was “mistake”. The only real reason to do so is get yourself at store. Very disappointed experience.

Same experience as Caroline's. Called to check their inventory 2 hours ago, confirmed they have several Kona in their inventory including the one I am looking for, and drove up there for an hour. I supposed to talk with Jamie and she didn't come up so I was passed to talk with the other salesperson. When I arrived there, I was told there was only one car left, everything has been sold. Really? in 2 hours? When I asked the salesperson named Jose about the pricing of the car, he wasn't giving me the price so I asked him for the third time, he asked me "Well, are you willing to buy the SE?" at the end. Although I was thinking about the SEL, I could compare the pricing on my end. I knew the pricing from Cargurus and wanted to check if it was still the same thing. Wasted my time with such a SCAM.

Bad experience. Confirmed the appointment the morning of to ensure that the vehicle was still there. Drove 30 minutes to find out from the person at the front desk that the vehicle had been sold the previous day. They then told me they didn’t have anything similar to what I wanted in stock and were rude and dismissive. After leaving I got a text from the person I was supposed to see asking if I had made it to the dealership as they were waiting for me... I had been sent away already by someone else.

Salesman was great but the the Price listed on CarGurus was a "finance only" price to get you to come in. In reality if you want to purchase the used car for cash, it was 5k more. Then there's fees to actually finance. Total SCAM

Car gurus price is $8600. When I contacted thHyundai of new Rochelle They told me its $13998 Very misleading. No wonder its been on the market for 167 days Also, according to KBB, Price (CPO) should be $9856-$12561

I drove 45 mins to see a car, came back to purchase it they someone someone put a deposit, looked at another car they had online said $30,000 they TRIED to sell it to me for $32,000 because I was going through my own banks loan. then I called later on that day they said the original car I looked at was still available, I then asked about this white car he jumped from 30,000 too $44,000. Then my boyfriend got on the phone they then said the car was $38,000 then I went back online the same day this happened they tried to raise the price too $34,000. Never again will I ever come back here!

They gave me the car and said it had warranties and that it comes with a full tank of gas and non of that was true they also told me that I have to do permanent registration on the car thru them and that is not true. and the millage they posted was 4000 miles less than the car actually had. Over all would not recommended this dealership at all I had a terrible experience.

I drove 45 minutes to New Rochelle Hyundai time see a SUV by appointment and the SUV was not there. The service they use time set up appointments did not check with the dealership or Vis versa. Anyway I wasted a good 90 minutes that day.

After my inquiry, the price of the car increased from $15,761.00 to over $17,000.Yhen they added de as ler fees and sales tax on top of that.

The dealer replied to my email. The vehicle was still available for purchase. I drove to the dealership and was met by a salesman, by the name of Desmond Jones. I test drove the vehicle and was extremely interested. Then, it was time to discuss price. I mentioned that I wanted to pay cash for the car. Suddenly, the price of the car was no longer $13,488. The salesman stated the price doesn't include the amount of $1995 which you have to put down. So essentially the price of the car is really $15483, which is extremely misleading. Then, you have to add tax, doc fee and dmv fee. The grand total out the door ballooned to $17400. That was a far cry from the posted internet price. Anyway, I argued that the payment calculator on their website clearly states the opposite of what he stated. In fact, the payment calculator shows the down payment of $1995 deducted from the internet price of $13488. The balance would be $11493 (plus tax, dmv & doc fee). As a result, I left.

The salespeople there are TERRIBLE even the manager. I was trying to buy a vehicle they had on their lot for FOUR days & told them that I wanted to to buy the car CASH!! I had to repeatedly contact them when they promised to call me back. Once I FINALLY got in contact with with someone, they then tell me that the vehicle I inquired about was sold earlier that day smh

Was on point with responding. Car was available but was not ready for pick up or even the test drive I was promised even though I was told it will be by the time I get there. If you can go elsewhere go. Here should be a last resort. Was not pleased.

I was very disappointed with my experience with New Rochelle Hyundai. I put close to 40k a year on a car and had a Hyundai Azera that I liked. Bad experience with a bad mechanic, ultimately the engine threw a rod and seized the engine. Okay, loved the car, why not buy another? Found one at New Rochelle sent them an email, right price, right mileage, good condition. I'll bring a $3,000 cashiers check and finance the rest through you (I know how they get paid). I show up; oh none of the banks wanted to finance with 3k down, just put $1k down. Wait , I brought you a cashiers check for $3k; I called you before I left the office and drove 1 1/2 hrs to buy this car and you pull this crap on me? I work for the largest bank in the US and they gave me a loan for this car; and this guy tells me no bank will finance a deal like that? Walked out and bought another car!

I called to verify with yesenia if a specific vehicle was still available. She told me it was. I scheduled a appointment for the next day and once I arrived the sales man told me the car has been sold. It was sold days before I made the appointment .Not a good experience especially if your traveling from CT.

Had an appointment to test drive. Talk to phone day before about the car.Ask for carfax.They said everything will be ready. Went there after 45min.drive just to found out they actually don't have that car.Then they try to sell something which is not even close to what I was looking for. Disrespectful.

Talked to 4 different people over the course of 3 days none of them could tell me if the car they advertised was even there let alone answer questions about it. They didn't return calls as promised and one of the salespeople was down rite rude! Take your business somewhere else.

I asked if the vehile was available and was told yes. I asked for photos and wasn't sent any. Then found out after I replied to the email with no photos, they no longer had the vehicle. I don't think they had it the whole time. They did offer me to check out the 2017's though which is out of my price range.

DISRESPECTFUL!!! I was negotiation an used Sonata with them and I really got a great deal for it by email after go to store and see the car. So then, I went to store to close and pay for the car that "they told" for me, however, they told me that someone online put a $500 down to hold that car. Because of that they offered me an Accent and I decided to put $500 down just to hold the car and think about it as it was refundable. When I went there I saw that Sonata and the sales lady told me that the person gave up the Sonata and she was very sweet and transferred my $500 that I put to the Accent to Sonata and told me that the car was mine. Everything's fine until I call her for the car's VIN and then she told me that had a problem because someone BOUGHT the car!!! So, I spent two weeks, my time, put down money to hold the car and then they call me saying that they sold it?!?!

This dealer's ad on CarGurus was misleading. I drove two hours to purchase a vehicle because the price listed on CarGurus (14,999) was below book value. CarGurus stated the price was a great deal, (below book value) but when I sat down with the dealer there was an additional price added on the $14,999 to get the vehicle at the price listed on the internet, in effect raising the vehicle's price an additional $1,899. therefore increasing the actual vehicle price to $16,898. This was very misleading. To make matters worst as I was driving out of another dealer with a vehicle I had just purchased I received a call from this dealer asking about my experience with them and at that time I was asked if I would purchase the same vehicle if officerd at $14,999. Very bad experience
