Hello sir. This is Shaun Kesler, General Sales Manager with Cleveland Ford. I would first like to thank you for taking the time to leave a review and provide feedback. From reading you first sentence, I am fairly certain you will have a clear understanding as to what has happened and assist in providing some feedback that sheds a more positive light on the situation. Thanks in advance for assisting.
That being said, after doing some research this morning, here is what I found. After a lengthy amount of research and cross reference, I was able to narrow down what customer and then what car you are referring to. The 2011 Mustang that you are referring to does have an error on the Carfax that was posted on 8/22/2018. I will explain why and how later in my response. Once I reviewed the CarFax, I noticed on 8/22/2018 that Rocky Mount Toyota had listed the Mustang in their inventory with 58,748 miles. Well, Rocky Mount Toyota is our sister store. In our Auto Group(16 stores), we are all allowed to share inventory. Once a vehicle reaches 60 days(two months), vehicles become available for wholesale purchase to other stores within the group on a Dealer Trade Network. Everyone plays on an even field. If the original dealer has a deal working on it, the buying dealer can choose to let the original dealer keep it for retail sale. This was the case on the Mustang. They purchased the car on the Dealer Trade Network and were then made aware the car was not available for wholesale. So, we still have the car.
Once I was able to read the CarFax, I made my way to the car and took checked the actual odometer. The odometer reads 50,779 miles. I also took a photo that I will send to you via email. After discovering that, I have submitted a correction/deletion request to CarFax. This will be updated sometime today. We still have the car here on our lot and the car has 50,779 miles.
As for the pricing and such, I am not ready to address that. In doing so, I would have to make assumptions based on your original review. With the CarFax being corrected and it not having those 8,000 miles and not being driven here at the store, I would have to assume that adds value, but I am not sure how much. Also, the car is not rusted and was taken care of. I would have to assume that adds value. However, since I have never spoken to you personally on this deal, I don't think its fair for me to assume that it makes the car worth what we are asking, to you. If you would like to continue that conversation, I would love to try to work something out. (two thumbs up).
That being said, hopefully you can correct you review. The owner of our Auto Group messaged us directly on this review this morning. Customer satisfaction is our priority top to bottom, across the board. Customer satisfaction may not always result in a car sale that that is ok. We want to address 100% of customer concerns, 100% of the time and do our best to remedy any situation. Transparency and process are key to how we run our operation. Feel free to respond back here or via email at skesler@clevelandford.com. You can also call me directly at 423-304-4477, which is my mobile. Either way, I look forward to hearing from you soon!
