Misleading headline price — verify final cash price
I contacted them about a CarGurus listin-headline price of $17,995. By phone the dealer said $17,995 applied only to financed purchases and cash purchases required an additional $1,995 (totaling $19,990). The dealer representative could not point to dealer notes or CarGurus’ terms showing the headline price was limited to financed purchases. The online headline did not disclose this distinction.
Facts I relied on: the CarGurus headline price ($17,995) and the dealer’s statements by phone that the headline did not apply to cash buyers and that $1,995 would be added. CarGurus listings typically show an advertised price and note that taxes, title, and dealer fees may apply; platform practices and dealer disclosures can vary.
Recommendation: get written, itemized confirmation of the out‑the‑door cash price and any required down payment; save the listing screenshot and all communications.

Car had some body damage and they tried to play it off as normal stuff when it clearly looked like the car had side swiped a tree. And they kept giving me the run around about how the car was a "good deal" and even had the whole car supposedly waxed while we were there to get the scratches out but when we looked at it again they had only done a little buffing on the scratched parts and no where else. Did not trust them at all. Also weren't very professional and were chit chatting to other team members during us going over things

Be~aware this dealer changes prices on you. I was looking at the GLE Mercedes Benz and he told me firm price of 18, 999. And then sent me pictures of the car and it had a sticker on window of 16,500. When I asked about it. He said Oh that was a Mistake. How about 17,999. After the firm price of 18,999. Um NO THANKS! I BOUGHT ONE AND ITS WAY NICER, NEWER AND LESS MILEAGE FROM AN ACTUAL MERCEDES DEALER !!! And they didnt change the price on me, they took off $2000 and bought us lunch. Treated us like family. They didnt lie and try to cheat me like you tried. Prices on there are actual lot are different than when you phone them. BUYERS BE AWARE! THEY LIE TO YOU!!!!!

I ended up not going with that car

Contacted this dealer on the app here asking them if the price of the vehicle was negotiable and whether or not there was any warranty beyond the state minimum 15 days 500 miles. I explained it was hard for me to come in that I'm handicapped and have a heart condition and I wanted to find out some things before I made an hour drive to them. Got back a message saying just let us know when you want to come in for a test drive we'll have it all cleaned up and ready for you. I responded back with you didn't answer any of my questions so could you please address them there's some things I need to know before I make what is a difficult drive for me my vehicle that I have currently is way too small for me I developed a heart condition I'm very tall and I put on a lot of weight and my feet swell
Waited a couple days they never responded sent him a message saying oh well I guess you're not interested in my business and he never responded, yet the vehicle is still for sale.

They contacted me immediately after I showed interest. Unfortunately, I’m stuck with a leased vehicle for 9 more months,.
The car we bought was in great shape and we’re very happy with it. Car City allowed us to go get the car inspected before purchasing.
However, beware of additional fees. They barely budged on the list price, which I can understand. But then in addition to the normal fees and tax, they added a $500 fee because the car came from Indiana. Maybe that’s standard (he wanted to convince me it was), but it’s something buyers should ask about up front and left a bad taste, honestly.

This dealership is a nuisance to the community that prays on low income, uneducated individuals that lack financial resources and knowledge of product and process. Because I do not fall into the formentioned category I did not purchase their 3000 auto auction car; a car they probably paid 500 dollars for. I feel sorry for anyone going through financial difficulties that may be forced to deal with a "business" such as this one. Poor quality, overpriced vehicle that was altered prior to my arrival for a test drive. The geniuses cleared the on board computer as if that is the only way to know if the vehicle has major issues. A three minute test drive was all I was given but that's all it took to know the car is not up to par.

I had a good experience with this dealer. They answered all questions right away and were very friendly. The only problem I had is that they sold the car soon after I saw it. I was sad but found a 2014 for $900 less. So everything happens for a reason :-)

I bought the car & didn't have to go visit the other 4 Honda's I was looking at. The Dealer
worked with me to agree on a price. Drives Great , Even better gas mileage with this manuel
transmission , all the bells & whistles I wanted and a few more. The passenger door latch was
messed up right after I bought the car & they took it back & ordered the part & fixed it for me.
Gave me a loaner to use while they fixed it. All's been good since. I would recommend my

First of all the dealer never contacted me but I contacted them, went there bought the car but on the way home the car stopped on me twice and the passenger side window stopped working we rolled it down and then we couldn’t close it, we tried to call the dealer back but it was already closed for the day , so we went to an auto zone auto parts they checked the car and came to a conclusion that the alternator was not working so the next day we called the dealer we told them to replace the alternator or we were returning the car and they told us to return it but we had to pay the fees and that the window was fine when we took the car that we had to pay for it also, so they charged us $180 for the window and $180 returning fees so we payed $360 for a car that we never even made it home

Very shady. 2 different carfax reports??! Asked for pictures, received extremely bad/blurry pics which means no one even looked at them before sending. Asked for better pictures/videos and was directed to a 20 second clip which showed me literally nothing. Probably better off going through a more honest dealer.

There was no pressure, easy to deal with. And a fair price.
Dmitriy from Car City has been very nice and has been corresponding with me by email. This vehicle
is too far away for us to see in person, but we are very seriously considering purchasing the vehicle
and having them ship it to us. Dmitriy has even offered to take the RAV4 to a nearby shop of our
choice so that we can have the car checked out first by a mechanic. So far a great experience.

Pleasant car buying experience. From the moment I got to the lot, Dmitriy was able to quickly set me up with a test drive on the car I expressed interest in, and gave me the time I needed to consider the car. I believe I got a fair deal in a win-win situation. I came in with outside financing, but don't believe they would have tried any high pressure sales tactics even if I had pursued financing through Car City. On the day I finalized the deal, I worked with Kaspars who got me through the paperwork painlessly. I was initially hesitant about buying a car through a small used car dealership as opposed to a larger, brand-affiliated car dealership, but I'm happy I gave it a chance. I recommend working with Car City if a care you're interested in is on their lot.

It is a smaller car dealership. With that being said, the issue with used cars is that you never know for sure if anything happened with the car, even if the car fax is clean. Unfortunately the dealers do not for sure. They were helpful, however the car was not satisfactory for me at least, it seemed that this specific car had an issue.

I purchased a 2004 Toyota 4Runner from Dmitriy and truly had an
amazing experience. I live in Michigan and purchased the truck sight
unseen. I had several questions for Dmitriy and he consistently fulfilled all
of them. Not only that, but he did so almost immediately. Whenever I
emailed, he responded within minutes...every time!!!
I asked for several extra pictures concerned about rust in the wheel
areas on the insides of each of the doors and had 16 new pics sent
within 5 minutes. I wondered if the rear window dropped and while we
were on the phone, he went out to the truck, started it and checked.
He was flexible with price, asked his mechanic to check it over, and was
polite, respectful and truly wanted me (the buyer) to be pleased with my
purchase. I NEVER felt like I was being pushed or bamboozled in any
way. Without the intent to stereotype, some dealers don't treat women
like they know a great deal about cars, etc. and Dmitriy NEVER made me
feel that way...refreshing. :)
I am VERY pleased with my truck, with Dmitriy and Car City overall. I had
my truck shipped to me and they worked with my shipper making sure all
legal mumbo jumbo crossing state lines would be accurate.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND CarCity in Palatine, IL to ANYONE and
feel confident that you will have the same positive (so very rare with most
dealerships) experience I had. While I am one to keep a vehicle for 15+
years, I would most definitely consider purchasing my next one through
CarCity. :)
