Basic Auto Sales was founded in 1976 by Mr. Kenneth Wright as a subsidiary of his AVIS rent-a-car franchise. During this time, Mr. Wright was actively involved in the automotive wholesale market where he met Mr. Kory Hummer, who is well known throughout the Commonwealth as one of the state's most successful wholesalers. While frequently conducting business together, the two developed a history of mutual respect and Mr. Wright decided to sell one of Central Virginia's most notable automotive franchises to Mr. Hummer. Since Kory has taken over ownership of Basic Auto in 2000, to sell one of Central Virginia's most notable automotive franchises to Mr. Hummer. Not the right model. I am looking for a high roof
model and the dealer wanted to show me a
model that was a med. or low roof model.
This was an excellent experience. I live almost hours from dealership. They sent me pictures, videos and always responded quickly to questions. The car was ready and waiting for me to inspect and drive. Stan was very patient with me and not pushy at all. The paperwork was done in 15 min. No pressure to buy anything extra. BEST car experience I have ever had.

Went to dealer to see and drive the advertised car - they could not located it - it then again
appeared on your site. Requested itemized out the door price - to date, have not received
same.

Great experience. A super nice group of people to deal with and very personable!
Unfortunately it didnt work out in the end; but the people I spoke with were very nice and helpful. Emailed quickly and followed up with calls.
Not pressure-salesmen like other places that have contacted me and I appreciated that because I knew what I was looking for; so combating
salesmen became boresome - Basic Auto was great to work with. Will consider them going forward!

They were very helpful, They no longer had the vehicle that I saw on the web site, but they showed me a vehicle that was very similar. They also offered me a very good price on that vehicle. My only complaint is that the other salesmen were too hard on the salesman that was helping me. He was brand new, so he didn't know all of their procedures.

They were helpful and receptive, but unwilling to budge on the price at all. Also, I contacted them twice and had two different prices told to me, both of which were apparently nob negotiable and over $1000 over the car guru recommended price.

We bought a 2011 3500 van .The PICTURE on the reviews show no dents but when we purchased the van pick it up a few hours latter.there was a huge dent on back of van.no one pointed out to me only that they lost a sale before me that this van had a large dent.They never washed my van as I REQUESTED and refuse to fix the recall on van before I bought it.I paid for it then they said I had to do it.Now the van has water COMEING in side near the driver side over the hood.It a long drive and I have to take back to get it fix.The water come in my van.sad.I will never buy another vehicle form them.

When I said I was calling about this car, he said "why don't you just come on
in and buy it now"? I over looked that, then he said he had to see if it was
still there and would call back. He did and said it was sold. He was
suppose to ask his boss about getting me one like that, he has yet to call
back and let me know if he's still looking etc.

I went there to look at the advertised car. They said they did not have it but would have one like it by Monday. I talked to them on Monday and they said they would call me when they had the car there. I have not heard from them since!

Purchased an used escape hybrid. It drove great until I got off the
lot. These guys got it fixed at no charge to me, of course, but it was
kind of a hassle.

I test drove the Saturn Outlook and found an issue going into Reverse. Was told it would be looked at, was then told the vehicle was being fixed and it would be back to the dealer in two days, now almost a week later it is still not back to the dealer and I have not been able to contact the salesperson I test drove the vehicle with. I contacted the second location and am now working with another salesman. Hopefully with some resolution.
