As to your review, There is no "part-owner," just me, and I don't believe we ever interacted.  As to the trucks we sell, we do purchase trucks from many sources. Whenever we can find a nice one, we buy it. If it is a bank repossession, we are fine as long as it was maintained. We actually don't do our inspections in-house. We pay the dealers in town and other mechanic shops so that the experts can evaluate them. If we run across a bad one, we don't sell them. There are too many nice ones out there. Who needs bad history vehicles, right? We also provide CARFAX history and inspection reports to our customers. I am not sure what else we can do with any pre-owned vehicle to provide more peace of mind. Who really knows unless they were the prior owner, right?
Pricing is a challenge we face daily. I hear you on that. You used CarGurus, so you are savvy when it comes to pricing already and we are a volume dealership that price our vehicles aggressively. As an industry, trucks are typically not sold in volume and they aren't discounted online. They still have the traditional markup and most dealers still price them up to price them down. I suppose it's the nature of truck buyers to want to negotiate, but here, we never price our cars in an effort to win a negotiation battle with our customers. We are really aggressive with our pricing and often times have no flexibility. I know it's not common and I can totally see how it felt to you like we were holding your feet to the fire, but believe me, we aren't. I am really sorry about your experience, Dave. Please know that I hear you and want to make sure we learn from it as a team and avoid it in the future. Less ...
