Used 2025 Ford Expedition for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2025 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 18.74% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,211 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Ford Expedition earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

It stands out as a large SUV that prioritizes interior space and strong towing capability, while also delivering a tech-forward cabin that feels impressively futuristic. For you, that means it makes the most sense if you want a full-size SUV that leans into practicality without feeling old-school inside.

The trade-offs are clear: the engines are thirsty, and some of the tech requires an additional subscription. Even so, the Expedition’s combination of capability, standard equipment, and advanced features makes it a strong fit if you need a big SUV and are willing to pay for it.

About 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Expedition is described as a well-equipped, practical full-size SUV with a strong emphasis on utility, and its standard powertrain and chassis setup are built to handle the demands of a large vehicle. The expert review also notes that it feels surprisingly easy to drive in everyday circumstances, which matters when you’re living with something this big.

Its performance notes point to a powertrain that handles highway driving confidently and stays composed on rough or broken pavement. The main ownership concern is that fuel economy is poor, so long-term running costs may be a bigger factor than mechanical durability for used buyers.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Expedition?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that may have been used for towing. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the vehicle’s tech and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Active trim brings a surprisingly strong standard equipment list, including tri-zone automatic climate control, power-folding rear seats, and the 24-inch panoramic driver information display. Higher trims add nicer materials and more upscale cabin finishes, while Tremor-specific hardware and lighting make that version stand apart.
• Powertrain: Every 2025 Expedition uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. The standard version makes 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque, while the Tremor gets a high-output version with 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: Ford includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, Pro-Trailer Hitch Assist, and Pro-Trailer Backup Assist as standard equipment. BlueCruise 1.4 is available on the Active, Platinum, Tremor, and King Ranch trims.
• Infotainment: The Expedition uses a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play store. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are supported, but the Google-based system requires an active data plan for full functionality.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates 2WD models at 16 mpg city, 24 highway, and 18 combined, while 4WD models are rated at 15/22/18.

Which 2025 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Expedition is offered in 4 trim levels: Active, Platinum, Tremor, and King Ranch.

Here's the short version:

• Active: This is the best-value trim if you want the Expedition’s core strengths without stretching too far up the price ladder. It already includes a lot of equipment you’d expect on pricier trims, plus it’s the only version with rear-wheel drive standard if that matters to you.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want more power and a more upscale feel, since the high-output V6 is available here and the cabin is positioned above the Active in the lineup.
• Tremor: This is the one to buy if you want the most trail-ready Expedition. It adds the high-output engine, standard 4WD, increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, skid plates, and off-road-focused hardware.
• King Ranch: Pick this if you want the most luxurious feel in the lineup, with the nicest materials and Del Rio leather seating called out in the review.

BlueCruise 1.4 is available on the Active, Platinum, Tremor, and King Ranch trims, but it requires a subscription after the trial period.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Expedition?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,211 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.74% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $60,272, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $61,346 sits slightly below last year's $75,497.

That drop suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make the Expedition easier to shop used than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that also means you may need to price competitively if you want to stand out.

The good news is that the model’s strong utility and broad appeal can still support demand, especially for shoppers who need space and towing capability. If you keep the vehicle in clean condition and maintain it well, that should help preserve value better than a neglected example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford Expedition safe?

The 2025 Ford Expedition has not yet been rated by NHTSA, and the IIHS testing referenced for this model year was performed on a previous-generation 2023 model.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford includes a strong standard safety suite: automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, Pro-Trailer Hitch Assist, and Pro-Trailer Backup Assist. BlueCruise 1.4 is available on the Active, Platinum, Tremor, and King Ranch trims, but it requires a subscription after the trial period.

The main caveat is that current crash-test results for this exact model year are not yet available, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and the vehicle’s size and visibility aids when evaluating it.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model adds the new Tremor trim and a more futuristic, tech-forward cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Expedition with the broadest capability and the most modern cabin, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but you’ll be giving up some of the 2025’s newest features and trim variety.
