Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: IQ.Drive suite
• Infotainment: 12-inch touchscreen running the third generation of VW’s Modular Infotainment Toolkit (MIB3) operating system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: We recorded 22 miles per gallon along our test drive route, although we wouldn’t be surprised to see the numbers fall in line (or below) with more city traffic thrown into the mix.

Which Volkswagen Atlas trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volkswagen Atlas offers these trims:

• SE: The entry trim brings full-LED lighting, power-adjustable heated side mirrors, roof rails, a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, heated and ventilated front seats, and IQ.Drive standard across all trims.
• SE with Technology: This trim adds an illuminated logo and light bar up front, a trailer hitch, 20-inch five-spoke alloys, and more USB-C ports, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers who want a stronger feature set without moving too far up the range.
• Peak Edition: This version adds unique bumpers, more rugged side sills and a rear diffuser, chrome exhaust bezels, blackout trim pieces, and all-terrain tires, while AWD comes standard.
• SEL: This trim adds leather seating surfaces and heated washer nozzles, giving you a more upscale cabin experience.
• SEL Premium R-Line: The top trim adds power-folding side mirrors with puddle lights, 21-inch two-tone alloy wheels, quilted diamond-pattern leather, massage functionality, a Harman Kardon 12-speaker premium audio system, a head-up display, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.

What Volkswagen Atlas do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Atlas years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Higher-volume years usually give you more shopping choice, which can make it easier to compare trims, colors, and prices. They also tend to be the years most buyers gravitate toward when they want a broad mix of availability and value.

What is the Volkswagen Atlas's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the Atlas lineup, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. Several years have seen double-digit drops, so you may find stronger value on the market than you would have a year ago. The smaller declines on some newer years suggest those models have softened less sharply than the rest of the lineup.

The 2023, 2024, and 2019 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Volkswagen Atlas safe?

• 2026: 8/10
• 2025: 8/10
• 2024: 8/10
• 2022: 7/10
• 2021: 7/10
• 2018: 8/10

Volkswagen’s IQ.Drive suite of driver assistance features is standard across all Atlas trims.
