How much does the Toyota C-HR cost in today's market?
Used Toyota C-HR prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Round Range |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | $22,541 | $22,275 – $23,400 |
| 2021 | $19,684 | $19,150 – $20,302 |
| 2020 | $17,514 | $17,433 – $18,689 |
| 2019 | $16,460 | $16,074 – $17,259 |
| 2018 | $14,730 | $14,119 – $15,148 |
The Toyota C-HR's current nationwide average price is $18,466, and its nationwide average reached a low of $17,211 over the past year. Recently, prices have come down for the 2020, 2021, and 2022 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.
Is the Toyota C-HR a good car?
Yes — the Toyota C-HR earns a strong case from owners thanks to its stylish design, fun driving character, and comfortable interior. The all-generations owner rating is 4.79/5 across every model year in the data.
Owners consistently praise the Toyota C-HR for its unique styling, great handling, and good fuel economy, and many also like the spacious cabin and tech features. Across the model years, the recurring trade-offs center on wanting more power and, in some years, more available all-wheel drive.
Expert reviews rate the 2026 and 2021 models among the highest across all years.
The main compromises called out in expert testing are the cramped back seat, limited cargo room, and charging tech that sits behind the class leaders on the newest model.
33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Toyota C-HR models reliable?
Owners and experts consistently point to the Toyota C-HR’s appealing styling, solid handling, and overall value as reasons it earns repeat praise. The ownership experience also trends positive across the model years, with strong satisfaction scores and recurring comments about comfort and efficiency.
- Owners rate the Toyota C-HR between 4.67 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
For used buyers, that combination suggests a reassuring ownership profile, especially if you verify the vehicle history and choose a well-kept example.
What should I look for when buying a used Toyota C-HR?
Across all model years, at 70.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|
| 2026 | 97.4% |
| 2022 | 74.6% |
| 2021 | 73.5% |
| 2020 | 68.5% |
| 2019 | 66.1% |
| 2018 | 64.5% |
Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2026 models.
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0
- Infotainment: a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Which Toyota C-HR trim should I buy?
The 2026 Toyota C-HR offers these trims:
- SE: The entry trim brings the standard 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and the core dual-motor AWD setup. It is the best-value trim if you want the C-HR’s main strengths without stretching for extras.
- XSE: This trim adds the surround-view monitor camera system, traffic jam assist, lane-change assist, 20-inch wheels, and available premium audio. It suits you if you want the most feature-rich version and are willing to pay more for the added tech and appearance upgrades.
What Toyota C-HR do most buyers choose?
The Toyota C-HR years with the most listings are 2019, 2020, and 2018.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2019 | 704 | 33.5% |
| 2020 | 699 | 33.2% |
| 2018 | 532 | 33.8% |
| 2021 | 505 | 32.5% |
| 2022 | 334 | 32.6% |
| 2027 | 76 | 39.5% |
Those higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find a price and condition that fit your budget. They also sit in the sweet spot where used-car buyers can balance affordability with enough selection to shop confidently.
What is the Toyota C-HR's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |

| 2019 | $16,460 | −4.65% |

| 2021 | $19,684 | −2.85% |
| 2018 | $14,730 | −0.38% |
Most of the model years shown are moving lower year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want more room to negotiate. The sharpest drops are concentrated in the newer years, while the oldest year in the table is nearly flat.
The 2018 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

Great car! Just the right size as a small SUV. Sits higher and the backs seat has more room than I expected. Love the sleek, sporty design. Lots of technology features. The only thing I would have added is heated seats.

Nice Car! I really liked the car but I found out in research that all model years have transmission issues.

Exceptional value! I love all the safety features and the very smooth ride. The MPG is great. Its a crossover but it is very spacious and has tons of storage space! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a crossover. The only thing I wish it had is Apple CarPlay, but I believe that only started to come standard in 2019.
