Which Nissan Maxima trim should I buy?

The 2021 Nissan Maxima offers these trims:

• SV: The base Maxima SV is the entry point, and it gives you the core Maxima experience at the lowest price in the 2021 lineup.
• SR: The Maxima SR adds a higher-priced step up in the lineup and suits you if you want a more feature-rich version.
• Platinum: The Maxima Platinum sits at the top of the range, and the 40th Anniversary Edition package is tied to this trim for shoppers who want the most upscale presentation.

What Nissan Maxima do most buyers choose?

The Nissan Maxima years with the most listings are 2017, 2018, and 2016.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right price, mileage, and condition combination. They also often sit in the sweet spot where the Maxima’s core strengths are still present while prices are more approachable than on newer examples.

What is the Nissan Maxima's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it opens up more value across much of the lineup. The sharpest drops are concentrated in the recent model years, while a few older examples have moved less dramatically. One newer year is essentially flat, showing that not every Maxima is falling at the same pace.

The 2023 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2023, 2014, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
