Which Nissan Maxima trim should I buy?
The 2021 Nissan Maxima offers these trims:
- SV: The base trim starts with the 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, built-in WiFi hotspot, USB-A and USB-C ports, and Nissan Safety Shield 360. It suits you if you want the core Maxima experience with strong standard equipment.
- SR: This trim adds a sportier setup and sits above the SV, making it the better pick if you want a more performance-focused feel and are willing to spend more for it.
- Platinum: The top trim adds the most upscale feel, and the 40th Anniversary Edition package builds on it with a two-tone exterior, model-specific 19-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, black exterior trim, red semi-aniline leather upholstery, white gauge faces, and heated rear seats. It suits you if you want the most distinctive and richly appointed Maxima.
What Nissan Maxima do most buyers choose?

I love the car a lot and I would recommend a maxima to everyone. The features are great, especially the safety ones, my favorite one is the cooled seats. I love the interior. I don’t think it’s missing anything. To compare I like this models better then a lot of other brands and it doesn’t get better then this.

The Maxima is one of my favorite cars, it has lots of power and its very stylish. This particular one is has heated seats and steering wheel, I like that it has dual Sun roof. My only issue is that front sunroof doesnt have a cover up so to not let in any sun when too hot.

Why it stands out
The 2016 Nissan Maxima stands out first and foremost for its styling. The test-drive notes make clear that if you do not like the way the new Maxima looks, nothing else about it is likely to change your mind. That makes design a defining part of its appeal, and it is the kind of car that will strongly attract buyers who respond to its appearance before anything else.
Beyond looks, the Maxima is presented as a car that rewards people who already like its design. The summary says that if you like the way this car looks, you are probably going to like everything else about it. Owner feedback supports that impression, with praise for its comfort, handling, and spacious interior, along with solid performance. At the same time, reliability concerns do appear in user feedback, so the 2016 Maxima’s appeal is strongest for shoppers who value style, driving feel, and cabin space, while being mindful that ownership experiences have not been uniformly positive.
