The Mazda MX-6 has consistently impressed owners across its model years with its fun driving experience, solid performance, and stylish design. Drivers appreciated its responsive handling, strong acceleration, and low cost of ownership. Many found it reliable and enjoyed its sporty character, making it a desirable choice. However, common criticisms included limited rear seat space and minor interior flaws, such as insufficient cup holder space. Some also raised concerns about the complexity of repairs and transmission issues in certain models.

Easy to drive, handles great; at 120,000 miles haven't had any major repairs at all; interior is a nice beige leather, shows a tad of wear, exterior is a generic "high resale" white; one tank of gas lasts about 400 miles and with regular oil changes and checkups, I have sidestepped any major repairs; absolutely most fun cars to drive and I've driven much newer and more expensive car than mine.

Although rated at only 110 bhp, the 2.2L 4-cylinder is very torquey, and capable of accelerating the car very quickly, especially when equipped with the manual transmission. Top speed is governed at 185 km/h, although I believe it could do about 200 without the governer. It also reaches that speed fairly quickly. As with most Mazdas, the handling is it's biggest performance feature, and the MX-6 is no exception. Steering is very quick and responsive, and the grip is extraordinary. The brakes also do an admirable job of hauling the car down from speed, despite the rear brakes being drums. This car is also extremely reliable, as the powertrain is one of the longest lasting I have ever seen. The styling is also quite tasteful, and allows for a decent amount of room in the backseat.

What a great car this was, I bought it from the original owner with 78K miles. I went for two years at 15psi of boost, pre-tuned chip, stock everything else. Then the transmission went out. I ended up selling the car, but the next owner replaced the tranny and is still boosting 15lbs, more mods, and 148K miles now on the car. Never needed anything else. Fantastic little cars, low 14s from stock turbo. Will own one again if I ever find another low mile car.

I love this thing! Owned since new (graduation gift in 1990 w/ 7 miles on it) now with 263,785 original engine & turbo! It just won't die. Drive this more then my 2005 Superchared V-8 Jaguar, definitely more fun! I've owned over sixty cars and this is the only one I've held onto over the years. 20 years of drving her and she still makes me smile. Find one and drive it, you'll understand what I'm talking about as soon as you release the clutch.
