1986 Lincoln Continental Review
by Monte

The 1986 Lincoln Continental

It's ugly, it's slow, and it's awesome. Feels like you're driving the Titanic. Immense body roll. It looks like it just rolled out of the junk yard, but after 226,000 miles, it keeps chugging along. Only cost $1,000, and I've spent less than 500 on maintenance in 4 years. Booyah, grandma.

Certified Pre-Owned: No Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic Color: Silver Description: Used 2001 Lincoln Continental 4 Dr STD Sedan for sale - $3,995, 120,468 miles
Avg. Dealer Rating: (2 reviews) "If I could give it no stars I would. I drove over an hour to look at a truck in their inventory that in the picture looked great. When I got there this truck looked horrible. It had dents everywhere, repainted everywhere( a spot here and a spot there and not will color matching paint) The truck had been in a front and rear end collision and they replace the most damaged parts trying to pass it off as good condition. The right headlight assembly was held on with a bungee cord and missing a lot of clips. After looking closer I could tell that the fenders and the hood didn't line up. Looking further at the engine the belt was terribly dry rotted. The engine looked to be fairly used. Looking at the driverside rear you could see where the previous bumper had been pushed into the metal and was poorly painted over. Opening the door lead to more disappointment. The recline handle on the seat was gone. Only a broken nob was left that couldn't be turned. The only good thing about this truck was that the tires looked to be practically new. Sad to say this truck had been rode hard and left out for a sucker to buy. I do wish it would have been a good truck. Driving an hour from home and looking to buy a vehicle I did learn a very important lesson. You get what you pay for in the Auto Sales World. Some are over priced...some are under priced...some have good and bad miles on them. I ended up buying a vehicle almost double the price of this truck with way less miles and looking like it came off a show room floor. 1. Please a word of advice from a former mechanic...do your research as far as price and don't agree to something if you don't feel like you are getting your money's worth. There are millions of vehicles out there just waiting to be found. It took me three days of hard looking before I found a vehicle that I was happy with. 2. Look the vehicle over with a fine tooth comb. Don't let the salesman rush you in to buy something that you haven't given it the once over. 3. Drive the vehicle and test everything. 4. Demand the carFax it will list the vehicles history such as owners and accidents if there were any. 5. If you are not a mechanic and everything under the hood looks alien to you that is ok. Have the vehicle checked out by a mechanic that you trust. Good Luck!"

Avg. Dealer Rating: (1 review) "This guy took forever to contact me back. He said vehicles online are usually gone and website is not updated. He is very short with me. I had questions about the vehicle that he wasn't sure about and was not willing to check on. Maybe his personality but he certainly didn't seem like he wanted my business very much. I wl not be purchasing from here. I only put one star be a use I had to and he did at least call back. "
