Used Land Rover LR4 for Sale near Waimanalo, HI

With a Jaguar engine, BMW transmission and Ford electronics this is a serious "best of breed" Land Rover. It's the most reliable vehicle I have ever own which is ironic given my father's woes with english cars as a kid. 475 HP matched with such offroad prowess is rare for a 7 passenger family machine. With it's refined and elegant utilitarian design it provides a ride that is both ultra quiet and silky smooth. It's very un Land Rover-like while still screaming utility with it's softened boxy design. I love the fact that such a heavy vehicle that can drive thru rivers still can do 0-60 in 7+ seconds. All of this in a vehicle? What's the catch? Yes fuel economy is the obvious answer but really it's the small gas tank. The 3rd row of seats was a likely design tradeoff vs. a bigger fuel tank which makes it's cruising distance on a tank 280 miles at best. One of my favorite things is the handling on curvy roads. For such a deceivingly top heavy SUV it handles turns with ease, stability and agility due to the bulk of the curb weight being low to the ground.

The LR4 (or Discovery 4 in international markets) is a nice improvement over the LR3 it replaced, with a lot of updated features, a better interior and cleaner/more modern styling, its a nice improvement over its predecessor in many ways. Its comfortable and highly refined in the city and on the highway, it has excellent outward visibility and plenty of power for passing and cruising. It is also highly capable off-road and excellent for towing. Its downsides are that the 5.0 V8 that replaced the 4.4 from the previous vehicle is less reliable and its not uncommon to have to do a timing chain job within the first 100k of its life. Its also thirstier than the outgoing engine (slightly) and LR recommends premium fuel, so it can be a very expensive vehicle to operate. Overall I highly recommend this vehicle to Land Rover enthusiasts and anyone else who is looking for a highly capable SUV, demands a premium feel, and can afford the higher maintenance costs and fuel consumption of this type of vehicle.

We enjoy the power of the V8 engine. After a week of driving the LR4 into the city, this car is a definitely a good value and solidly built. I believe that there may be other SUVs in this category. However, the classic exterior design of the 2013 LR4 ended in 2016. Other comparative designs are curved and rounded which make the other SUVs look more like crossover cars.

We love our LR4 and even fight over who gets to drive it. It is going to be perfect for getting us to our cabin in the woods. Super fun to drive too! There are so many great features offered and it truly is like a perfect mix between a rugged offroading vehicle and total luxury vehicle. Its like the Wrangler and the Range Rover had a baby. The head and cargo space is great and the air suspension is awesome. I really wish Land Rover would bring this body style back for the Discovery model.
