Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, lane following assist, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch touchscreen are standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA fuel-economy ratings for the non-hybrid Sportage are 28 mpg combined (25 mpg city, 33 mpg highway) with FWD and 26 mpg combined (24 mpg city, 30 mpg highway) with AWD. Unless you opt for the Sportage X-Pro, that is. It’s rated at a lower 24 mpg combined (23 mpg city, 26 mpg highway). The other powertrain options are more efficient—the FWD Sportage hybrid is rated at 42 mpg combined, and the plug-in hybrid gets up to 34 miles of all-electric—but these numbers are comparable to the non-hybrid competition.

Which Kia Sportage trim should I buy?

The 2026 Kia Sportage offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim uses the 2.5-liter four-cylinder and gives you the core Sportage setup at the lowest price, making it the starting point if you want the model’s design and standard tech without moving up the ladder.
• EX: This trim adds a step up in equipment and is one of the trims where AWD is available, making it a smart middle-ground choice for shoppers who want more content.
• SX: This trim brings the more premium equipment set and is the point where the Harman Kardon audio system becomes standard, so it suits buyers who want a richer cabin experience.
• SX-Prestige: This trim adds more upscale equipment and is one of the trims where AWD is available, making it a strong pick if you want a more fully equipped Sportage.
• X-Line: This trim adds different front and rear bumpers, tread-like stitching for the SynTex artificial leather upholstery, and standard AWD, so it fits buyers who want a more rugged look with added traction.
• X-Pro Prestige: This trim adds all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels, standard AWD, and the most expensive non-hybrid setup, making it the best fit if you want the most capability and the most upscale Sportage experience.

What Kia Sportage do most buyers choose?

The Kia Sportage years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

These higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they offer a strong mix of availability, newer features, and broad appeal. When inventory is deeper, you also have a better chance of finding the right trim, color, and price point.

What is the Kia Sportage's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it creates more room for value. A few years are falling especially quickly, while one recent year is moving up, so the pricing picture is mixed rather than uniform. Overall, the table points to a market where used buyers can still find meaningful savings across much of the lineup. The 2024, 2016, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
