Used Kia Sorento for Sale nearWetmore, CO

How much does the Kia Sorento cost in today's market?

Used Kia Sorento prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Kia Sorento's current nationwide average price is $21,101, and its lowest point over the past year was $19,536. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the Kia Sorento is a strong used SUV choice if you want a family-friendly package with space, comfort, and a long feature list. The all-generations owner rating is 4.6/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Sorento for its spacious interior, smooth ride, and family-friendly practicality. Across the model years, comfort, style, and value come up again and again as reasons shoppers like it.

Expert reviews rate the 2017 and 2016 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs that show up in recent expert reviews are the cramped third row, the underwhelming base engine, and the limited cargo space in some versions. Lower trims can also feel less richly equipped than the upper models, so the best experience often comes from shopping carefully within the lineup.

35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Kia Sorento models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Sorento’s comfort, practicality, and family-friendly design as its biggest strengths. Across the model years, you also see repeated praise for the smooth ride, useful features, and overall everyday usability.

• Owners rate the Kia Sorento between 2 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking service history and choosing a well-kept example, especially on older model years.

What should I look for when buying a used Kia Sorento?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 77.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2021 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist is standard on all 2025 Sorento models except for the LX, and SX and SX Prestige add lane-changing functionality to create a Highway Driving Assist 2 system.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 Sorento has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The Sorento LX and S return up to 26 mpg in combined driving, while the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder is rated at 23 mpg in combined driving.

Which Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia Sorento offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim uses the 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder and eight-speed automatic, making it the value-focused choice.
• S: This trim keeps the same engine setup and suits buyers who want the core Sorento experience with a practical equipment step up.
• EX: This trim can add the X-Line appearance package and is a good fit if you want more style and available upgrades.
• SX: This trim moves to the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and can also add the X-Line package.
• SX Prestige: This trim adds the turbocharged engine and comes standard with the X-Line package, making it the best-value choice for buyers who want a more upscale Sorento.
• X-Pro SX Prestige: This top trim adds unique matte-black 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, enhanced utility roof rails, exclusive bumper covers, and increased towing capacity to 4,500 pounds.

What Kia Sorento do most buyers choose?

The Kia Sorento years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2022.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, mileage, and price combination. They also sit in a sweet spot where newer features and broader availability often overlap.

What is the Kia Sorento's resale value?

Most Sorento model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it can create more approachable pricing. The biggest drops are concentrated in several older and mid-cycle years, while the newest models are also easing from their prior-year levels. Overall, the pattern points to a market where buyers have room to shop carefully rather than chase rising prices.

The 2014, 2023, and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Kia Sorento safe?

• 2025: 8/10

Highway Driving Assist is standard on all 2025 Sorento models except for the LX, and SX and SX Prestige add lane-changing functionality to create a Highway Driving Assist 2 system.

Should I buy a used Kia Sorento now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −6.94% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −7.78%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 37.2% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 38%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $28,831. The Kia Sorento offers a roomy, family-friendly cabin with a versatile three-row layout and a polished overall character.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Kia equips the Sorento LX and S with an underwhelming 191-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder generates 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.
• Tech: Every 2025 Sorento has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Digital Key technology transforms your smartphone into the SUV’s key fob.
• Safety: Highway Driving Assist is standard on all 2025 Sorento models except for the LX, and SX and SX Prestige add lane-changing functionality to create a Highway Driving Assist 2 system.
• Starting price: The base Sorento LX starts at less than $35,000.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
