Used Jeep Wrangler prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Jeep Wrangler's current nationwide average price is $25,388, and its lowest point over the past year was $24,839. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Jeep Wrangler models reliable?

Owners across the model years consistently praise the Wrangler’s rugged personality, off-road capability, and fun driving experience. Expert coverage also points to a vehicle that stays true to its purpose and continues to attract buyers who value character and capability.

• Owners rate the Jeep Wrangler between 4.0 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For long-term ownership, you should expect the Wrangler to reward buyers who prioritize trail use and distinctive character, while everyday comfort and efficiency remain the bigger ownership considerations.

What should I look for when buying a used Jeep Wrangler?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 78.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2019 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Sport S adds adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, while Rubicon X makes blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and high-beam assist standard.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged four-cylinder engine has an EPA combined rating of 21 mpg in both the two- and four-door body styles.

Which Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Wrangler offers these trims:

• Sport: The entry point, with the Wrangler’s core open-air design and rugged character.
• Sport S: Adds adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, making it the best-value trim for shoppers who want more everyday convenience.
• Willys: Adds a more adventure-focused setup and is available in both two-door and four-door configurations.
• Rubicon: Adds serious off-road hardware and is available in both two-door and four-door configurations.
• Rubicon X: Adds the most advanced safety content in the lineup, including blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and high-beam assist.
• Willys ’41: A four-door-only special edition with distinctive army-green styling and matching painted wheels.
• 85th Anniversary Edition: A four-door-only special edition.
• Sahara: A four-door-only trim.
• Willys 392: A four-door-only trim with V8 power.
• Moab 392: A four-door-only trim with V8 power.

What Jeep Wrangler do most buyers choose?

The Jeep Wrangler years with the most listings are 2021, 2022, and 2019.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choices on trim, color, and equipment, which makes it easier to find the right Wrangler at the right price. They also tend to be the years shoppers cross-shop most often, so inventory stays active.

What is the Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

Most model years in this set are down year over year, which creates better opportunities for used buyers. The largest drops are concentrated in the newer model years, while the older years show smaller declines. That pattern suggests recent Wranglers have softened more quickly than earlier ones.

The 2023, 2015, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Jeep Wrangler now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −15.83% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −12.82%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2021 model has the most listings at a current average price of $27,396. The Jeep Wrangler offers a distinctive open-air driving experience and a strong sense of character that few SUVs can match.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The 2026 Jeep Wrangler has a powertrain for everyone, offering the stalwart Pentastar 3.6-liter V6, a more efficient 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, and a powerful 6.4-liter Hemi V8, and the V6 pairs with a six-speed manual while most models come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
• Tech: A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard, backed by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and the Trails Offroad app adds trail maps through the infotainment screen.
• Safety: Adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking become standard on the Sport S trim, while blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and high-beam assist become standard at the Rubicon X trim level.
• Starting price: The base two-door Sport model was priced at $34,227 without options.

If you're buying used today, the 2021 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
