Used Jeep Wrangler prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Jeep Wrangler's current nationwide average price is $25,232, and its lowest point over the past year was $24,819. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

• Owners rate the Jeep Wrangler between 4 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking condition carefully, since older examples can show more wear from hard use and accident history.

What should I look for when buying a used Jeep Wrangler?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 79.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2019 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking on the Sport S trim, with blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and high-beam assist becoming standard at the Rubicon X trim level.
• Infotainment: a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
• Fuel efficiency: a Wrangler with the turbocharged four-cylinder engine is the most fuel-efficient, with an EPA combined rating of 21 mpg in both the two- and four-door body styles.

Which Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Wrangler offers these trims:

• Sport: the entry point, with the Wrangler’s core open-air, trail-ready character and the broadest starting point for shoppers who want the model’s basic formula.
• Sport S: adds adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, making it the best-value trim for buyers who want more everyday convenience and safety equipment.
• Willys: adds a more distinctive appearance and a stronger adventure-focused personality.
• Sahara: a four-door-only trim that adds a more upscale, comfort-oriented take on the Wrangler.
• Rubicon: adds serious off-road hardware and is the trim to choose if trail capability is your priority.
• Rubicon X: adds the most advanced safety equipment in the lineup, including blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and high-beam assist.
• Willys ’41: a four-door-only special edition with unique army-green styling, matching painted wheels, and a ’41 hood graphic.
• 85th Anniversary Edition: a four-door-only special edition.
• Willys 392: a four-door-only special edition.
• Moab 392: a four-door-only special edition.

What Jeep Wrangler do most buyers choose?

The Jeep Wrangler years with the most listings are 2021, 2022, and 2019.

These higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they offer a strong mix of availability, pricing, and familiar Wrangler features. More listings also give you more room to compare trims, colors, and condition.

What is the Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it creates more room to find value. The biggest drops are concentrated in the newer model years, while the older ones show smaller declines. That pattern suggests recent Wranglers have softened more quickly than earlier examples.

The 2023, 2015, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• Sweet-spot year: The 2021 model has the most listings at a current average price of $27,120. The Jeep Wrangler offers iconic styling and a highly customizable, open-air driving experience that few SUVs can match.

Consider waiting if:

If you're buying used today, the 2021 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
