The Jeep Grand Cherokee's current nationwide average price is $22,494, and its lowest point over the past year was $21,512. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the Jeep Grand Cherokee has broad appeal because it blends comfort, capability, and a premium feel in a way that has resonated with owners across generations. The all-generations owner rating is 4.5/5 across every model year in the data.

Which Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers these trims:

• Laredo: The entry trim uses the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6, a 10.2-inch touchscreen, cloth upholstery, and Jeep’s Quadra-Trac I 4WD system; it suits you if you want the most accessible way into the lineup.
• Laredo X: This trim keeps the V6 and 10.2-inch touchscreen while adding its own sub-level positioning in the lineup.
• Laredo Altitude: This trim adds the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, the Black Appearance Package, leatherette upholstery, and the Selec-Terrain system; it is a strong value if you want more style and capability.
• Limited: This trim adds leatherette upholstery, available 20-inch wheels, and the option for a dual-pane sunroof.
• Limited Altitude: This trim adds bigger wheels and a blackout treatment similar to the Laredo Altitude.
• Limited Reserve: This trim adds genuine leather upholstery and sits near the top of the lineup as one of the best values.
• Summit: This trim adds genuine leather upholstery, 21-inch wheels, a black roof, a more sophisticated Quadra-Drive II 4WD system with a two-speed transfer case, and available height-adjustable air suspension.

What Jeep Grand Cherokee do most buyers choose?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee years with the most listings are 2022, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume model years tend to be popular because they offer a strong mix of availability, newer features, and a wide range of prices. More listings also give you more chances to compare trims, equipment, and deal quality before you buy.

What is the Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you want to buy used after the initial drop in value. The declines are especially steep on several newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older years are falling more slowly. That pattern gives you a lot of room to shop for value across the lineup.

The 2014, 2023, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• Tech: Jeep continues to rely on the long-lived Uconnect 5 infotainment system, which still has an easy-to-use interface with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
• Safety: Jeep says it improved the behavior of Active Drive Assist to more seamlessly transition to lower levels of automation when needed.
• Starting price: The Laredo trim starts at $40,410 with the mandatory $1,995 destination charge.

If you're buying used today, the 2022 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
