Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Hyundai SmartSense driver-assistance suite
• Infotainment: 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Which Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra offers these trims:

• SE: The entry trim brings the 8-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument panel, and standard safety tech, making it the value-focused starting point.
• SEL: This trim adds the 10.25-inch touchscreen and is the best-value choice for shoppers who want a richer tech setup.
• SEL with Convenience Package: This version adds cyclist detection, front cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

What Hyundai Elantra do most buyers choose?

The Hyundai Elantra years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they combine broad availability with newer features and more recent design updates. They also give you more shopping leverage, since more listings usually mean more chances to compare prices, trims, and condition.

What is the Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

Most Elantra model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want to stretch your budget. The declines are generally modest to moderate, with one year showing a small increase instead of a drop. That pattern suggests you can often find better value in recent model years without giving up the newer features buyers want.

The 2020 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2020, 2016, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Hyundai Elantra now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −3.6% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −5.44%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 37.9% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 38.1%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $19,579. The Hyundai Elantra offers a roomy cabin and a broad lineup that gives you plenty of choice across trims and powertrains.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: As an affordable, mass-market car, you would reasonably expect the Elantra to offer one powertrain. Instead, there are four engines and five transmissions, each of which share a front-wheel drive (FWD) layout and four cylinders.
• Tech: A 10.25-inch touchscreen is now standard on SEL-and-above trims, and a digital instrument panel is standard.
• Safety: The SE and N come standard with forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and auto high beams.
• Starting price: The 2024 Elantra starts at $21,625.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
