How much does the Honda Civic cost in today's market?

Used Honda Civic prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Honda Civic's current nationwide average price is $19,169, and its lowest point over the past year was $17,559. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the Honda Civic is a strong used-car choice if you want a compact car that blends everyday usefulness with driving enjoyment. The all-generations owner rating is 4.47/5 across every model year in the data.

32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Honda Civic models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Civic’s reliability, fuel efficiency, and long-term everyday usability. Across the model years in the data, it comes across as a dependable compact car that’s easy to live with and rewarding to own.

• Owners rate the Honda Civic between 4.5 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership picture looks favorable, especially if you choose a well-kept example with a clean history and solid maintenance records.

What should I look for when buying a used Honda Civic?

Across all model years, at 65.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Sensing collection of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS)
• Infotainment: standard 7-inch digital instrumentation panel and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system
• Fuel efficiency: The Civic’s EPA fuel economy ratings are respectable at 31 mpg in the city, 39 mpg on the highway, and 34 mpg in combined driving.

Which Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Civic offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim uses the 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, plus a CVT and front-wheel drive; it suits shoppers who want the Civic’s core formula at the lowest price.
• Sport: Adds 18-inch wheels, a more distinctive look, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, making it the best-value trim for many buyers.
• Sport Hybrid: Brings Honda’s Two Motor Hybrid powertrain for stronger efficiency and more power, making it the smart pick if you want the Civic’s efficiency-focused side.
• Sport Touring Hybrid: Adds larger 10.2-inch instrumentation and 9-inch infotainment displays, Google built-in, Alexa built-in, wireless smartphone charging, and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
• Si: A standalone sport sedan with a turbocharged gas engine and manual transmission only, aimed at drivers who want a more engaging setup.
• Type R: The performance-focused hatchback variant, for shoppers who want the most extreme Civic in the lineup.

What Honda Civic do most buyers choose?

The Honda Civic years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Those higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a broad mix of availability, pricing, and deal opportunities. When more listings are on the market, you usually have more room to compare condition, mileage, and equipment before you buy.

What is the Honda Civic's resale value?

Most model years in the table are moving lower year over year, which is helpful if you’re shopping used. A few years are close to flat, and one year is rising, so the Civic’s pricing picture is mixed rather than uniform. Overall, the pattern still favors buyers who want to wait for a softer entry point.

The 2014, 2016, and 2024 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2015, 2014, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
