The GMC Yukon XL's current nationwide average price is $43,962, and its nationwide average price reached a low of $42,933 over the past year. That puts today’s pricing near the model’s low point for the year, which can be a favorable setup for shoppers watching recent listings.

Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

What GMC Yukon XL do most buyers choose?

The GMC Yukon XL years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2022.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they offer a strong mix of newer features, broad availability, and pricing that still sits below the newest model years. More listings also give you more chances to compare trims, colors, and equipment.

What is the GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The table shows broad year-over-year price declines across every model year listed, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. The drops are mostly double-digit, so buyers are seeing meaningful movement in pricing rather than small shifts. That creates opportunities to find stronger value, especially on recent model years.

The 2023, 2018, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the GMC Yukon XL safe?

• 2016: 6/10

For the safest used buy, the 2016 model posts the highest confirmed score of 6/10.

Consider waiting if:

• Safety: The latest model is updated with available Super Cruise semi-automated driver assistance technology.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
