What GMC Sierra 1500 do most buyers choose?

The GMC Sierra 1500 years with the most listings are 2023, 2025, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, more trim and equipment combinations to choose from, and a better chance of finding the features you want at a competitive price.

What is the GMC Sierra 1500's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, and several recent ones show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favor if you’re shopping used, since it opens up more room to find a newer truck at a lower price than before. The biggest drops are concentrated in the newest model years, while older trucks are changing more slowly.

The 2014, 2018, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Base models get a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine dubbed TurboMax that produces 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, while the available 6.2-liter V8 makes 420 hp and 460 lb-ft.
• Tech: SLE and higher models get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.4-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Google Built-In features.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
