| 2025 | $47,810 | −17.02% |

Several model years have dropped by double digits, and even the smallest changes still point to softer pricing than a year ago. The 2018, 2019, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Should I buy a used Ford Transit Passenger now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −17.02% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −20.73%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 34.8% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 33.7%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $41,061.
If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the newest version, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Reviewed a 2024 Ford Transit Passenger on Feb 23, 2026
The car was advertised as having a minor accident however when I looked at it in person it was anything but minor. It was involved in a side swipe and I could tell on the drivers rear side panel. Looks like they bondo-d it. The van side windows above the panel were not even and rust starting to form. The factory rivets were still in on the back door hinge which makes me think they bondo-d it. Also aftermarket leaf spring on the drivers rear tire was installed. The bondo job was not great as it was cracked all the way down the seam running the full length of the side panel. I ran a carfax report on it and that report showed minor which is false advertising in my opinion. I want others to know before purchasing this vehicle because at this price it is not worth it.

Overview
About the Ford Transit Passenger
They may not be the most exciting vehicles in the world, but when it comes to moving lots of people and gear, it’s hard to be a van. Ford does big vans better than almost any other automaker, and the Transit’s sales numbers back that up. It’s offered in a rainbow of configurations, including a cargo-van, a passenger-van, and a cutaway chassis setup. The Transit Passenger can seat up to 15 people and features more creature comforts than the spartan cargo van. Though it’s made to haul people, the Transit Passenger van offers generous cargo space with a high-roof option, and it offers a solid towing capacity. Ford also offers a smaller people carrier in the Transit Connect, which is frequently customized for use as a taxi.
Beyond the impressive level of choice and customization options, Ford differentiates the Transit from other commercial vans with more safety equipment. The automaker also offers a wide range of telematics options for fleet operators, which allow granular tracking and detailed information on the van’s performance, operating costs, and location. The cargo version is popular in the overlanding community, as the Transit is available with all-wheel drive, making it a fantastic choice for light off-roading.
What are the advantages of the Ford Transit Passenger?
The Transit Passenger has more tech and safety features than its rivals, and the available all-wheel-drive (AWD) system makes it a weather-conquering beast. Additionally, the van retains plenty of cargo space, and it can tow surprisingly heavy loads.
What is the best Ford Transit Passenger model year?
Ford began offering AWD in 2020, so if that’s on your must-have list, it’s a good starting place to shop for used Transit Passenger models.
What are the disadvantages of the Ford Transit Passenger?
The Ford Transit Passenger Van is more expensive than its competitors, and Ford offers several upgrades that drive the price skyward in a hurry. It’s also not as capable from a payload perspective as some in its class.
Comparison: Is the Ford Transit Passenger better than the Chevrolet Express?
The Chevrolet Transit has been on sale since 1996 and gave it an update with chassis and other improvements in 2003. However, the van on sale today is largely the same as the van that was on sale when Prince Charles and Diana divorced. Chevy does not offer AWD, and the Express is rear-wheel drive (RWD) only. The upside for the Chevy is its price, which is significantly lighter than the Ford’s but that’s where the benefits end.
How much cargo space does the Ford Transit Passenger have?
The van offers up to 461.9 cubic feet of space with the seats out of the way, but that number shrinks to 39.1 cubic feet with all four rows of seats in place.
Is the Ford Transit Passenger a reliable car?
The Ford Transit is rated as having average reliability in its class. It’s backed by a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
