The best-selling Ford Transit comes in a variety of formats and sizes, one of which is the passenger configuration. A 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive (RWD) are standard, and all-wheel drive (AWD) can be optioned in. Three roof heights are available, offering low, medium, and high configurations. Three wheelbase options are available as well. The Transit’s cabin wins major points for its similarities to the Ford Explorer SUV, which bumps the refinement and comfort factors considerably. Several "upfits" are available, adding custom seating options, wheelchair accessibility, taxi hardware, and more. Also available is a new Livery Package, which contributes 10-way power front seats, ebony leather upholstery for all seats, power sliding doors, HID headlights, full privacy glass, and 16-inch wheels. The base van gets a 4-inch display screen, but a larger optional 8-inch touchscreen brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and more. Ford also offers a variety of commercial tech options for the Transit that include telematics and fleet management hardware. Ford Transit Passenger models come standard with Ford Co-Pilot360, which includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, a lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, post-collision braking, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and trailer coverage. The 2022 Ford Transit goes on sale later in 2021.
