The Ford Festiva has earned a special place in the hearts of many owners over the years due to its remarkable fuel economy, affordability, and low maintenance costs. Drivers appreciate its reliability and simple design, making it easy to work on. Although many enjoy how fun it is to drive, some do find it lacks power and can be uncomfortable. Overall, while the Festiva may not win beauty contests or offer luxury features, it consistently delivers dependable performance for those looking for a practical and budget-friendly option.

I bought a red 1989 Ford Festiva right off the dealerships car lot...It lasted for 220,00 miles and was used to haul my music gear to shows in...The car also was used as a multipurpose vehicle too...I loved that little car sine it was the first new one I ever bought...A mechanic told me that they were not breaking down and they were well made is the reason Ford stopped making them...
I like my festiva mostly for it's practicallity (except only 2 door) and it's efficiency, but I have to commend it's history- having had no work done to it in 13 years! Has only ever required one battery change and a few replacement bulbs. Although the car is actully built by Kia Motor Company (despite being badged Ford) the build quality is surprisingly high - with nothing breaking and the paint, exteriour plastics and dash standing up to the W.A sun really well! Although performance is small with a 1.3 litre engine I can't complain about the fuel consumption getting over 300km (around town) to the 30 litre tank and about 550km when going to Perth.
I absolutely love this car. It is the type of car that grows on you when you own it. You begin to appreciate the simplicity of everything and how ell it works. Cost of owning and operating this car is negligible.
I have owned this car for years. It now has 207,000 miles on it and it is running on the original engine, transmission, fuel pump, starter and alternator. It may have been a cheap car, but I do not know of any cars of any price that hold up as well as these do.
Not much to tell you here. A solid little car. UNBEATABLE gas mileage.
