(12 reviews)We really enjoyed our Raider, but had to give it up when our son came along. Not very easy to put a child in a car seat in the rear. Gas mileage was good for a 4wd, handling was good, service was good, would have kept it longer but family comes first.
i got a 1987 dodge raider silver. (no pics) it is a 3L with about 200 horses under the hood. i find that the acceleration is very good in mine. it is extremely fun to drive on or off road. it is one of the very few 4x4s i know of that will leave a 25ft long strip of burnt rubber on the ashphalt when it is 4 wheel drive!!! i think that the braking could be better but it is satisfactional. the handling is great i find. (if you want it to be!) it has NEVER squeaked or rattled and the only repair it has needed is for the exaust to be welded back on after my friend took it off a jump without my permission. i actually find that it is a very appealing car on the out side and inside. i find the gas mileage pretty good 500km to the tank. maintenance is very low in cost. i love all the little gadgets and buttons on the inside. its almost a luxury car! overall i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it! oh yeah! i almost forgot! i pulled a great big 2500 gmc sierra 4x4 out of a bog with it. that just prove that they are small but very mighty!!!
Basically, my truck is a SWB Mitsubishi Montero, known in other areas of the world as a Mitsubishi Pajero or Shogun. Mine is equipped with a 3.0L V6 (6G72) SOHC and a 5-speed manual transmission. It's actually a pretty decent city truck, easy to manouver with its short wheelbase. Highway is a different story, as the 4.625:1 final gear ratio leaves the motor sitting pretty high on the tach. A result of this gearing is poor fuel mileage (about 350km on an 80L tank). This truck is insane off-road. Again, the gearing helps, as well as the short wheelbase (shorter than a Cherokee, Longer than a TJ). It came equipped with 5 STEEL (not plastic) skid plates (all of which have been used at least once), and it is pretty lightweight.
nice car good engine talking about offroad is good and save car but careful with the speed to be my first car is perfect if u like mud and the offroad driving it`s like a little tractor buy one
overall I just love the style, great looking truck and will be very capeable off road with a body lift, 32s, and some frame work. I got this truck for very little money so i can justify putting some into it. very excited new owner of a beat up dodge raider.
