Used Dodge Magnum for Sale near Illinois
Dodge Magnum Overview
Like the Phoenix rising from its ashes, reborn into something greater and even more powerful, the wood-paneled boxy station wagon driven by Mike and Carol Brady died long ago and was recently reborn as the Hemi-driven Dodge Magnum.
The Dodge Magnum originally appeared on the market back in 1978 as a replacement for the plain-Jane Charger SE. Initially a two-door coupe housing a V8 engine, the Magnum was the last Dodge to compete on the racing circuit. The first generation was and still is loved by nostalgic Mopar fans, as it represents the last of a classic era, but bears little resemblance to the current crossover vehicle. Only the name remains the same.
Looking to provide the utility and functionality of an SUV in the body of a family car but with the engine power and acceleration of a sports racer, Dodge created the new Magnum in 2005 to offer a faster, sexier, and more fuel-efficient alternative to the SUV. With its top-of-the-line model sporting a 5.7-liter, 340-horsepower V8 Hemi, the Magnum can move. But its longer wheelbase and rear-wheel drive also offer more balanced and firmer handling, better control on curves, and a quiet ride. Inside, the extended wheelbase means a lot more legroom for backseat passengers.
Outside, the second-generation Magnum looks like no other car on the market. With its unique rear tapering and wheel wells that jut out aggressively, this car exudes power and menace on the highways. Owners rave about its style and how fun it is to be behind the wheel of a Magnum. The interior room and gas mileage (17/24) also rate well. There are few major complaints, and most of those have to do with the interior design.

The Dodge Magnum, spanning from 1979 to 2007, has garnered a loyal following thanks to its powerful performance, spacious interiors, and distinctive styling. Owners often praise its roomy cargo space and the thrilling ride offered by the HEMI engine. However, many have voiced concerns about fuel economy and some interior quality issues. Despite its quirks, the Magnum remains a beloved choice for those looking for a unique blend of utility and sporty appeal.

What people say
Nothing compares to the srt 8 magnum 2005 or 2006
I love EVERYTHING about this car. It accelerated when you need it to and it stopped when you need it to! I am only giving it up because I lost my job and can't afford to keep it right now!!
Owned a 2005 RT, drove it 270,000 miles. Then bought a 2006 RT and drove it 250,000 miles before I got rid of it. Great cars, minimal repair costs, plus the 5.7 liter hemi. Moved on to a Cadillac 2010 CTS Performance Wagon, decent car, too many bells and whistles. Systems and components breaking down left and right, repair costs $3500 so far. And only 140,000 miles. Time to send this one onto the aftermarketlife. Looking at a 2008 SRT 8, should have stayed with Dodge to begin with.
This car looks and runs powerful. It's fast and fun to drive and still serves as family wagon and cargo carrier. The only maintenance I have had to do is oil changes, scheduled service and a new battery. I have been very happy with it overall.
The look grabbed me right away. Of course having bought one early in life really brings back a lot. Big block 2 door doesn't hurt either. I've grown tired of small and big block chevys, not that they aren't great but its funny how we end up back at our roots. Never got to drive the first one so this one starts where I left off years ago
