The Chevrolet Traverse's current nationwide average price is $26,471, and its lowest point over the past year was $25,336. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the Chevrolet Traverse is a strong choice if you want a roomy three-row SUV with family-friendly comfort and easy-to-use technology. The all-generations owner rating is 4.72/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Traverse for its spacious interior, comfortable ride, and generous cargo room. Reviewers also frequently highlight its family-friendly practicality and smooth driving experience, which make it especially appealing if you want everyday usability with plenty of space.

Are Chevrolet Traverse models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Traverse’s spacious cabin, comfortable ride, and family-friendly usefulness as its biggest strengths. Across the lineup, it also earns praise for straightforward technology and everyday practicality.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high-beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitors with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and rear parking sensors
• Infotainment: an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined, while AWD reduces them to 20/24/21 mpg

Which Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse offers these trims:

• LT: the most affordable choice and a strong value if you want the Traverse’s core strengths, including lots of accessible space, excellent technology, and plenty of safety features
• Z71: the off-road-oriented trim with standard AWD, red front tow hooks, knobby all-terrain tires, and moderate off-road ability
• High Country: the luxury-focused trim that adds a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, driver’s seat memory, leather upholstery, and heated rear seats
• RS: the upscale blacked-out trim with black exterior trim and the same higher-end comfort and convenience positioning as the High Country

What Chevrolet Traverse do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Traverse years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2022.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a wider selection of trims, prices, and equipment combinations. They also sit in the sweet spot where newer features and broader availability often overlap.

What is the Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

Most model years are down by double digits year over year, which creates better opportunities for used buyers. The sharpest drops are concentrated in several recent and mid-cycle years, while a few newer examples are declining more slowly. That pattern suggests you can find meaningful value across much of the lineup, especially if you shop carefully and compare listings.

The 2025, 2023, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
