The Chevrolet Malibu's current nationwide average price is $15,742, and its lowest point over the past year was $15,491. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Which Chevrolet Malibu trim should I buy?

The 2017 Chevrolet Malibu offers these trims:

• Malibu L: The entry point starts the lineup and suits shoppers who want the Malibu’s core comfort and efficiency at the lowest price.
• LS: This trim adds a step up in equipment and sits in the middle of the lineup for buyers who want a balanced value proposition.
• LT: A strong value choice that builds on the Malibu formula with more equipment while staying below the upper trims.
• Hybrid: This version adds hybrid efficiency and is the pick for shoppers who want the Malibu’s best fuel economy.
• Premier: The top trim adds the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, the 9-speed automatic, and the most upscale equipment; it suits buyers who want the most power and the richest feature set.

What Chevrolet Malibu do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Malibu years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

These higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they combine newer-model appeal with broad availability. That usually gives you more choices on price, mileage, and equipment.

What is the Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

Most Malibu model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want to benefit from softer pricing. The newer years show the steepest drops, while the older years are changing more slowly. That creates a broad spread of value across the lineup, with several recent models becoming more approachable.

The 2014, 2016, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Chevrolet Malibu safe?

• 2017: 8/10
• 2016: 8/10
• 2014: 8/10

For the safest used buy, the 2014, 2016 and 2017 models all post the highest confirmed score of 8/10.
